Nice looking truck. And the new 325 HP V8 will be a welcome addition.

Re: Introducing 2007 Toyota Tundra

The Toyota looks very aggressive kinda like what the Ram should have looked like. Sure do miss the ole powerwagon looks.

How do you like this one from GM it would be a great run-about.

Re: Introducing 2007 Toyota Tundra

I have no doubt the Tundra will be a nice looking truck. I am very happy with my Titan and when it comes time to truck shop again I will go drive one, listen to how much they want and then go to my Nissan dealer and buy the newly redesigned '09 Titan, probably get a steal like a did on my '04 and come here and listen to some of you people Bi**ch about rattles in your Titans. I thought a truck was a truck, not a Lexus? Titan haters

If you thought a truck was a truck you would be driving the cheapest truck availible.

I thought nissan was a company concerned with fit and finish and they would put that concern in the titan. Which is why we pay a premium for the truck. The fronty does not rattle like this. The pathfinder is pretty rattle free. I figured that they would put the same care into the titan. Which is why I and many others are disappointed with the titan and looking at the toyota so closely.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Titan and believe 100% that it is the best truck on the road right now. However I am loyal to no company. If something better than the titan comes out I will be buying that.

My truck has no rattles at all and I think the fit and finish are fine. My wifes quest and my brothers tacoma have way more rattles than my titan.

Consider yourself lucky then. My '04 rattles like a tank, but like many others, love it just the same. Just would have been nice if Nissan would have finished the interior better.

Re: Introducing 2007 Toyota Tundra

Grunge, Nissan was almost gone back in the late 90's. They now have a costcutter in Carlos Ghosn turning the ship around and they a producing many new vehicles that outperform the competition in many ways but are a notch below Toyota/Honda interior quality. Nissan is turning head's in the industry and GM tried to lure Ghosn away from Nissan. He also was ranked by Motor Trend as the most influential person in the industry today.
You ask why does that matter about the Titan? Because Nissan must make a profit on these trucks/thus the hard plastics you find throughout the cabin. Nissan put all of the money into the engine and drivetrain. I expect them to tweak the interior in '08-'09 like they did with the Altima in '05.

Re: Introducing 2007 Toyota Tundra

The new Tundra looks, well.... Reminds me of the Tacoma, which too, looks .

As for rattles, and interior finish, my 2004 has one slight rattle on bumpy roads, and I think it's driver side window. As for the dash, I like it. You won't have to worry about it buckling under the temperatire changes, or extreme heat like the pleather dashes other trucks have.

Re: Introducing 2007 Toyota Tundra

Pi3,

That is a GM from down under.
I kinda like it, the brand name is Ute from the holden car company.
As MO sez very elcamino ish.
I am sure it would be a great hit if they bring it across the pond.
The low drag coef design if teamed up with a frugal diesel and a six spd
would make it a sure bet.

Re: Introducing 2007 Toyota Tundra

We have to remember Nissan has always been known as the CHEAP brand both in quality and price. I miss my Titan everyday because it was so fun to drive but it was cheaply made.

Toyota will do very well with this truck. I just can't wait to see the HP/TQ numbers. The engine designer has posted before claiming 350-380 for HP and around 400 TQ. It's hard to say what it will actually be. Being Toyota I'm sure it will be top dog or very close to it. What will be interesting is what the MPG will be. Since Toyota is known for good MPG vehicles in all their lines compared to others. All in all what will give Toyota the edge over Nissan and Honda is the abilty to get this truck in a butt load of configurations. Nissan is really limited in this area and should expand

Thats the Holden Monero/Pontiac GTO based "UTE". If GM puts it out in the states I\it should have nearly identical spec to the GTO including a 6 litre LS2 V8 and 6 speed manual.
