Okay well I thought I would be the rebel to start this thread, which might not be popular with some, but here goes.
I have been on here for a little while, and I recently joined up on DodgeTalk.com....because I like trucks, like the Hemi, and thought it would be a good opportunity to learn more about it. I have met some cool guys on there, and some not cool. And they have run into the same here. Now, I understand there is a certain "rivalry" between the two, b/c frankly we are their only competition in a sense, and we are also new and trying to prove our place in the big truck market. This has brought about some really senseless pissing matches...We don't believe some of them, they don't believe us, etc, etc...stupid really. The point of this thread is I am hoping that there can be a mutual respect between Hemi owners and Titan owners without threads getting locked all of the time. I think that in long term it could be a beneficial thing for all of us to have a coexistence. Could prove fun down the line, dyno days, track runs, and even maybe help in getting parts made.
I am sure there will be a few people on here to flame me, and that's fine...I would say that those people are not the ones I am looking to reach....and in turn if any of the Hemi owners come over and flame same for them. Now understanding this is a Titan site...I am not looking for every Hemi owner to start logging on and taking over, but the few that do have interest in coming over should be accepted as long as there are no trouble makers. Hopefully this is well received. I am also going to extend the same thing over there so as to be fair.

I am not going to flame you and I understand where you are coming from. Just because people have different trucks doesn't mean they should not be able to get along and have an intelligent discussion. Unfortunately, that's usually where the problems come in! LOL.
I have an inlaw with a new Dodge with the Hemi and he was nothing but impressed when I let him take my Titan for a drive. I also complimented him on the purchase of his new truck. In fact I personally like ALL trucks.
When I was shopping for my new toy I tested the Chevy & GMC 1500's and the Duramax's as well as the Ford F250's. I made my choice simply because of the ride, power, features and price of the Titan. I must admit that I was very willing to go back to a Chevy or GMC but the features just were not there like on the Titan IMO. The only thing I didn't like about the Hemi was that the back seat of the CC seemed small. I know that they have the MegaCab now but I didn't care for the looks of it.. Once again that was just MY opinion.
To each his own!

Whats up guys?? I have a question for the Titan owners...What performance mods do you guys have available so far?? It didn't take much to get my hemi into the 13's, so I dont think it would be tough for you guys either because y'all are starting from a nice baseline just like the hemi. I'm just trying to see if I could help you guys make some power and bring me some competition at the track. All the titans I have seen at the track were stock, and the fastest one ran a 9.5 in the 1/8th. I would like to see you guys drop into the 8's all motor!!
From what I've seen in my studies, they don't have a fraction of the market the Hemi has, unfortunately. They got a few options on exhaust and CAI, and some programmer that's insanely expensive. Otherwise, there's a couple guys working on Turbos and SC's, but that's gonna be out of reasonable grasp of 95% of common folks.
Just not the wide variety.... yet.... that other manufacturers are offering. I did read that Hypertech may be working on something for them though. Hope it's comparable to the SC. Although, the SC actually just fixes alot of limitations the Titan doesn't have to begin with is what makes it so cool for us.(TM, Rev limiter, top speed limiter, etc)
Oddly, I've not seen anyone say anything here about a "Power-wire" type mod, which is kinda universal & simple regardless of what you drive. Or electric fans or underdrive pulleys either(Does the Titan come with EFan by default?)

BINGO!!! This is why I was asking. Have any of you Titan guys installed an e-fan, or an exhaust cutout to eliminate your exhaust completely, or maybe made or bought a HIGH FLOW 4" intake??? These are all mods you can make or install in your garage and you will make power...You dont always have to wait on the aftermarket to go faster. I ran 9.2's in the 1/8th without headers or a programmer...My only mods were an intake and a cutout.
Unfortunately for us titan owners there are very limited aftermarket mods for our trucks. We already have the benefit of efans, but as for programmers, converters, etc. we are lacking.
There have been some decent gains with intakes and exhaust, but only putting us down into the upper 14's.. A true programmer or custom tune would make a huge difference in my opinion..
Our stock converters come with a 2200 rpm stall, however, there is still some severe TM noted on WOT starts...atleast for me.
I haven't heard any reports of headers, underdrive pulleys, etc.

Not to go thread stealing, but....
Some have (tried) the cut-out, but didn't report back on the results. Some have done the e-fan, but again, not sure what it gained because it wasn't the only mod. The one thing some have said with the Titan is opening up the exhaust too much has caused some low-end loss, which I'm assuming would be due to it running more rich to compensate(?).
For me, I'm really excited about the turbo set-up on memeber has done. If you wanna read about it, check out the link to read more. It's a big thread, but good info on the kit. But like the Hemi, we kinda have the same problem-no good programmer/tuner yet. The turbo kit is impressive byt itself, but add a good programmer, and it's gold. BTW-if you look at the times for his 1/4 run, he mentioned he had MAF issues to resolve and the track wasn't in good condition, plus he was running 5psi.
