My weekend rant.....

The wife is sick of listening to me so I figured where else can I blow off some steam but with fellow Titan owners....

I drove to the coast yesterday afternoon.... it's about a 2 hour drive through some pretty congested areas... I know the fact that it was Friday afternoon didn't help either... but I am convinced the world's drivers have lost their minds.... just totally crazy stuff the entire way. Getting cut-off countless times... people weaving in and out of traffic, passing in the emergency lanes.... wtf has happended on our roads??? What's with this phenomenon of getting cut off and then getting finger to boot?? Shouldn't I be giving my finger to the guy who cut me off??? Just what is the thought process that goes through people's minds?

I drive around my metro area everyday for work and about once a week you see something totally crazy happen... yesterday in the span of a couple hours I saw at least 6 absolutely crazy occurences... I can't believe there were no accidents. The weather was dry which seems to cut down on the number of crashes... it also makes everyone think they are invincible. Don't get me wrong... I'm all for going fast at times (or I wouldn't own a Titan) but the key to driving somewhere fast is getting to that somewhere alive. I guess the older I get the less chances I am willing to take.... It's scary being on the road with so many idiots that appear to have nothing to lose... or more likely don't realize what they have to lose....

And to top it all off on the way home today I got clocked at 78 in a 55..... DOH! First ticket in 8 years.... I was on a very wide corner and all of the sudden I found myself coming right at a county cop.... the radar detector went biserk but it was far too late.... I didn't even wait for him to turn around... I just pulled over. I was hoping that might help get some leanency on the ticket... or at least a couple mph off.... no dice!!! He stuck it to me! Worst part was I caught him checking out my truck as he walked up.... I always love that question.... 'Is there any reason you were going so fast?' I wanted to say... Fast? If you wanted to see fast you should have caught me a couple miles back when I was really flying... but I thought better of it. Truth be told about 3 miles prior I had killed an F350 superduty up a huge hill and was still on a 'Titan-High' ...... what a buzzkill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, many drivers have lost there minds. I've been thinking about getting one of those scrolling signs big enough to go across my back windshield just to voice my opinion to them. "Hey douchebag, get off my a$$ I can't go any faster with 300 cars in front of me." Really what can you do, pop another top on a cold beer and roll on.

Oh yeah.... I almost forgot to mention by far the most humiliating part of the story..... As I'm sitting by the side of the road the F350 I blew by drove past and honked...

That's always the crappy thing about getting pulled over. You know all the people you blew by are laughing at you. All the wifes sitting next to their husbands are saying look at that idiot, see what happens when you drive too fast.

I always honk, point and make obtuse laughing motions at pulled over speeders....I don't know why.....I seem to get a kick out of it.....I mean I REALLY enjoy it....my wife has even commented about something being seriously wrong with me after witnessing my strange behavior.
