Unhappy Titanless for 30 days

It's what happends when you get a DUI. Got the results today from my DMV hearing and I lost it. License suspended for 4 months, can apply for a restricted license( to/from & during the course of work ) after 30 days.

This has already cost me 5k and am I not done yet. I urge all of you to think before you drive. You may not think your drunk ( I was not, blew a .095 ) which for a experinced drinker that's nothing.

Lesson learned for sure

Re: Titanless for 30 days

That sucks, when I was 19 I lost my license for 6 months not from DUI but from too many speeding tickets. It sucks being driven around everywhere.

Re: Titanless for 30 days

you are lucky with 30 days- when I was 17- I lost my license for 1 year before I could get a temporary work license- then had that for a year. All this for an alcohol possesion - not even a DUI or DWI

Re: Titanless for 30 days

Sorry, but I have no sympathy. As a buy with kids aways on the go, the last thing I need is another impared driver on the road. As if the old people aren't bad enough. Even if I have as little as one beer at a friends house, my wife drives. She doesn't drink at all, I consume on average, two cases a year, but never opperate a vehicle after consuming any. What I can't understand are those guys that drink and then ride a motorcycle.

Here in KY you are legally drunk at .08, so yes, you would have been tossed in jail!!

Re: Titanless for 30 days

I think in most of the states the legal limit is .08 now. In the Washington DC area (Virginia, Maryland) its .08 for a DWI and less than .08 its a DUI. These days most people know the do's and dont's

Re: Titanless for 30 days

In CT its .08 and over = Driving Impaired, .1 and over = Driving Drunk. Something like that.

Kinda like "Exceeding the posted speed", and "speeding".

Anyways, my friend got one here .08 or something and got a work permit immediately, no waiting period then 3 mos of that she got her license back regular. Then she had to take 10 classes and go to a Victims Panel and it will be off the record. Her dad is a lawyer.

Good luck man, watch those insurance rates too.

Re: Titanless for 30 days

To answer your questions... The cop said I was driving in two lanes ( truck was directly over the white line ) the street I was on the #2 lane which I was in is a good 10 feet wide. I was nowere near the lane next to me. It was also at 12:30am and not a car in sight. I was drinking Beam and for those of you have had that, the smell stays with you and pretty bad.

STL.. I'm asking for sympathy, and I agree with your point. I did wait about a hour and half after my last drink to leave the bar. Thought I was ok, it is also a place I would not want to leave my truck.

Since this has happend, ( May 3rd ) 6 other people that go to that bar and been pulled over and arrested. One of them blew a .05, the police are staking out the parking lot exit and getting people.

In his report I did not see anything about failing the field test. All that was mentioned was the odor of alcohol and failing the PAS unit. Yea I gotta watch the insurance, hopefully I will be able to afford or bye bye Titan.

Re: Titanless for 30 days

It was an expensive lesson but it beats learning the hard way with an accident that hurts you and or hurts/kills someone else.

It may not seem like it now, but you will be better off for it.

sorry to hear that. i definately don't condone drinking and driving because it is wrong, but we all do it. Sorry stlblues, but not all of us are always out with our wives and have them drive us home after 1 beer

the limit in DE was lowered from .10 to .08 about a year ago. I dunno, its a loose loose situation. I have some friends that are ABSOLUTELY sober after having 3 or 4 beers in an hour, and i know others that are drunk after 2.

Re: Titanless for 30 days

Yeah, in Oklahoma I got a DUI when right before my 19th birthday. I only blew a .1 though. I gew up in Oklahoma for 18 years in a small country town, so I was an experienced drinker by the age of 19. LOL

Lost the license for 6 months, I still drove just as much, if not the same. Good excuse to use when you dont want to drive your vehicle for a long haul. LOL

It was for a dumb reason too. I was driving home and he pulled me over for having my foglights on in city limits. Out of all the times, its for something like that!
