Got new toys for my Se-R

got the engine broken in (10,000 miles) and its time for some mods. I think they look awsome in the engine bay. Pardon the messy engine compartment, I got frustrated while I was working and didnt care anymore.

Re: Got new toys for my Se-R

dont know, i got exhaust and camshafts coming, and in about a month i have a dyno for a day (through my college, UTI is sooooo sweet) and I can tune it, i hope to be puttin 180 to the wheels (at least) and hopefully 190ish after tuning. Still not that much, but the qr25de is super peppy in this car.

Re: Got new toys for my Se-R

nissan sucks to work on. I had to take out the alternator coolant tank, coolant hoses, fans, radiator, k clip (kinda like a huge friggen motor mount), 2 heat shields, and all the bracketing. And the 02 sensors were put in apparently by a gorilla and i have not but the lower one on. Obviously I threw a code but I can diag and fix at my school. then the kit was missing a bolt, so i had to run up to pep boys and buy a manifold bolt kit (keep in mind that all I have on is the header, (i was backfiring like a mofo) and I have to do most of it again when my exhaust comes. The honda boys just have to drop the exhaust manifold and bracketing (like an hour project) this one with intake took about 11 hours,... I hate nissans

Re: Got new toys for my Se-R

I'm used to tuning Honda, done a couple of Toys, but no Nissans yet. Had an Integra throwing 11.92s. You hid the NOS lines well........you did put baby on a bottle, right. Combine 150shot with 12 lbs of turbo on a ported and polished head, gives it a kick. Thinking about putting headers, cold air, and NOS on the wifes Odyssey. Should make taking the kids to school more interesting. On the Hondas, we always removed the timing cover and used easily adjustable timing cogs, looks kinda cool too. Like the yellow paint though.

Re: Got new toys for my Se-R

Is that the SPEC-V (the 2.5)?? I test-drove one for fun a while ago while I was at the dealer for service.. That lil' thing, with that BIG 4 (for a car that size), combined with the 6 speed manual was QUICK!! That thing was a blast to drive. It was a younger salesman that told me to mash it, because he hadn't been in one yet. FUN FUN, and light on the MPG's too. Small and overpowered. anything followed by overpowered works for me!!!

Re: Got new toys for my Se-R

its the auto, but its being forged soon, and im planning on runnin a little boost to it. The auto gets up quick and there isint much shift overlap. One thing i have noticed is that my car ideling and in D and R (not in park or neutral) will surge down to about 2-300 rpm and then return to normal idle rpm and will do it often. It almost stalls. Im thinking a sensor, maybe the MAF or the TPC or CTS or maybe the RPM sensor. I unplugged neg term on the batt and still does it? maybe a reflash?
