Unless it pulls a Charley (from a Cat 1 to a Cat 3 or 4 overnight), we should be alright. I worry more about tornados dropping out of the sky with these small canes. This could only be a Cat 1 or even a tropical storm. Regardless, shutters started going up yesterday. Got fuel, food, water etc.... No school tomorrow. Whatever it is, it will come right over the top of us weds/thurs.
1st rain band woke me up about 6:30 this morning. Wind is not bad, right now, not expected to get bad either. Between 40 and 50 mph tops, probably lower. It is gonna go right over the top of us.
Gonna get lots of rain though. "Fortress FinFan" is buttoned up, but there was probably no need this time. Just could not wait till it was on top of us to start the hunker down procedures. You just never know, so it's better to be prepped than to be caught off guard. They say it could still spin off tornadic activity, so I guess it's ok to put the shutters up.
Missing a day or two of football practice though. That stinks.
FinFan, just curious - where are you in SOFLA, I just moved to Ocala from Lauderdale last Dec. One of the reasons was I was sick and tired of the shutter drill.
I think this storm moved the leaves on my tree out front. Better go check! Just an overcast day here. Kind of like MI winters without the cold!

"The heavy stuff is not suppossed to come down for awhile" (Bill Murray - Caddie Shack), I guess after dark. But all in all, I've seen worse afternoon thunder showers than this.
I put my shutters up yesterday and had them down by 2:30 pm today. The storm degraded that bad and that fast. Heck I went to the mall today. Would not have done that the last 2 years. This storm was a cupcake.

East coast, Central Florida, can watch shuttle launches from my front yard.
