? For Gun Guys

I am looking for something small to carry for personal protection. My home pistol is to big and heavy for carrying around all the time. I have been looking around for small decent caliber pistols and so far have narrowed it down to one. Kel Tec, P11. It is a 9mm and is said to be the smallest and lightest in the world to date. The reviews have been pretty good, and the price is very resonable, 275.00. Just wondering if any of you may have some insight on this gun.

Re: ? For Gun Guys

You might want to look at the pt series of Tarus. I have one in a 40 and it is very plesant to shoot and quite a bit more powerful than a 9mm. It is also very small and handy.

I have a Kel Tec 38 that is a great gun, but the only thing I dont like about it is there are no safeties on it. Just the hard trigger pull. I also have a small SS beretta 22. Now that is a great gun with plenty of quick safeties. Its got a pop up barrel so there is no need to chamber a round.

It may be a bit big for what you want, but I have a Sigarms 239 in 40 S+W. I like it a lot. I also have a 229, and 226. But those are a lot bigger.

You should look into the Sig 239 SAS.

I checked out their web site and they got some nice looking guns at a decent price. I never heard of them till now. They even have a concealed .45 that is the same size as a 9mm. Good stuff

Re: ? For Gun Guys

I also have a Kimber ultra carry custom 45 that is top notch!! Might want to go to their site and check it out. That is my most charished gun. Very thin and lite. Goes great with my Fobus paddle holster. Cant carry it in the summer here. Dont wear enough cloths to hide it. hence my Beretta 22 that goes in my front pocket.

If you are looking for something for CC, nothing beats the SW airlite IMO

Re: ? For Gun Guys

Kel Tec is a good gun..they are made right down the road from me in cocoa florida, alot of guys around here own them and I havent heard any problems from them. For concealed I think they are good but I dont know if I would put several thousand rounds through them for target practice though.

Re: ? For Gun Guys

Check out what Glock has to offer...going to be much better than anything else on the market. I believe the Glock 26 (9mm) or Glock 27 (.40) would exceed your expectations.

Re: ? For Gun Guys

Colt Detective Special with shrouded hammer, shells of 158gr+P HPs, couple of speed loaders.

K.I.S.S.

158gr+P will more likely to penetrate skull than the faster 115gr and is less prone to jam.

of course, if you want glamorous look, go with a more modern "skinny popper"

if i had to go for a small s'auto i'd get a Colt Officers type...gun is not a tool to save on money on.

for more than 45acp, revolver's more, unless you want more "flash," figuratively
