Where are the Fords (Conspiricy Theory)?
I've spent a few days over the last couple of weeks looking at local Ford dealers hoping to catch a bargain-basement deal on a 2006 F-350. At each of the four dealers I've been to, they are out of 2006 trucks. I say no way and start doing some reading. An 18 Aug article included the production figures I've attached...specifically, 1.91 million trucks this year. As of 1 Sep, Ford sold 1.26 million trucks this year. I'm no math guru, but it seems to me this is a surplus of 650,000 trucks that should be sitting on lots around the country. Are you guys seeing the same as me or has Ford just shipped all of its '06s out of Michigan as to not offend the union any more? Is is actually possible that they would "pull back" the '06s to try and make a fresh start in '07 without having to offer incentives? That seems kinda crazy to me, but no more so than hearing about the dismal sales only to find all of the current MY gone in Sep.
