He's a hockey player who was driving his Ferrari at high speed and crashed and his friend who was the passenger, died. He survived and is now playing back in the NHL for the Senators. I don't think he should have gone to jail and I'm glad he's back in the NHL. It could of happened to anyone of us. Just my 2 cents but I don't know why you posted it in the Titan General Discussion though.
it dosent matter he is a hockey player his actions took someone elses life he should pay for it.the a55hole that was driving the car my nephew was killed in is doing 15yrs and that isnt enough for what pain he caused my family.my little girl still cries herself to sleep some nights because she misses him so much and this was 3 yrs ago.i say fry the ba5tard just because he is a pro athlete dosent mean sh!t!
Very tough to make a decision with not much information. If he was under the influence of a controled substance it would be off to the pokey right away. How fast was he going, what were the conditions, where were they, what was the speed limit, did he swerve to miss something, did he have to stop suddenly because of something in the road? All these questions play huge factors. If he was only going 5 mph over the limit a tire popped and he lost control, it would be hard to charge. If he was going 120mph in a 35mph zone swerving and weaving irradicly he is guilty. But I don't know the story.

Since he killed someone stupid enough to get in a car with him, I think the highest charge should be involuntary manslaughter.
If he had nailed another car and killed an occupant, I'd want him to spend a long time behind bars. What really confuses me with the guys that can afford these cars is that they can easily afford track days where they can test the incredible capabilities of them in relative safety.
The Philadelphia area has lost a few great athletes in car accidents... Jerome Brown of the Eagles crashed a Corvette killing him and his nephew.
Pelle Lindberg, a goalie for the Flyers smashed his Porsche into a retaining wall.
A Philly boxer, who's name escapes me at the moment, bought a sport bike and was killed on it minutes from the dealership.
I think here in TX, if it's an accident which involves alcohol and someone is killed, it's bumped up to something higher than manslaughter. I can't remember the charge, but it's higher than if it were truly just an "accident" with no other factors involved. It's called intoxication manslaughter. A 2nd Degree Felony.
A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America' for an amount of 'up to and including my life.' That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand that...

You are entitled to your two cents, so if I was a, lets say a soccer player and I had your son riding with me and I was doing over the speed limit and crash, your son dies and I survive and I go back to playing soccer, you would be alright with your lost?
I think they sould make an example of him just because he's an celeb. Thats who our kids look to as role models because of their fame. He should get for that.

Whats the point of having all that money, if you cant buy your *** out of prison? Just ask any celeb who has ever been charged with anything, up to and including OJ Simpson.
Personally, if he was drunk (meaning legally over the intoxication limit not just 1 beer), and doing 90mph in a 60, lost control of the vehicle and killed his friend then its Vehicular manslaughter with intent to cause bodily harm (forgive me, I have no knowledge of actual law, but it sounds like something you might here on law & order). I say with intent, because you cant get in a car drunk and not intend to harm someone.
Stupid, yes. Murder, not according to the law, but yes.
BullTitan, I dont think it would be an issue for me, because the Soccer player would never play soccer again. He would most likely have an "accident", as I am one vindictive sob.
