Tall Folks Thread

Not to hijack the legroom thread, I thought I would dedicate a thread for tall Titan folks, the ones with head scars, long sleeves that aren't so long, and those whose dread long plane flights and the reclining backrest in front of you.

Where do you get your clothes? How do you close the door on a port-a-potty? What is your favorite tall joke and why don't you play basketball? Feel free to share your tall experience.

Joke: None..they're all bad.

Basketball: 6-3, 200 lbs when I was 12...had to play. I HATE basketball!

Re: Tall Folks Thread

I was enbarrassed a while back when I went to a local breakfast dive and was pulling off my sweat jacket over my head. I should have been more mindful of the ceiling fan. I also get a kick out of using a public rest room to find the only available urnal to be the one lower than my knees...what to do? Kids at the mall are a hoot. These high speed moving baracades move just below your line of sight, have a knack of timing their movements attempting to take you down, but often get punted to the ground. I feel bad about it, but they were in my blind spot.

Not only do you have to look up..but down, too.

I have had more than one encounter with a ceiling fan...pipes in the ceiling in underground garages can be a problem too.

You could always kneel in a mens room...but I wouldn't recommend it.

Bi-focal glasses...another problem...when looking down...everything is blurry.

Re: Tall Folks Thread

The men's room thing drives me nuts. There's always a 5'2" guy using the tall one, and you get stuck with the one that is still at his chest.....what's that guy trying to prove?

On second though, if you just let it fall to the short one, I guess it fits ok lol

6'3" here and two hundred and *cough*, ahem, pounds. Had a flight last June from Orlando to Anchorage that was pure torture. Like being jammed in a shipping crate and the bouncy bastige in front of me on one leg of the flight almost gave me permanent knee injury.

Saw a great T-shirt once though: "No. Do you play miniature golf?"

Re: Tall Folks Thread

I'm sometimes annoyed by the folks who ask about height -- what other physical attribute is it OK to ask about? Since it is usually females who ask, can we ask in return about their weight or age? Nope. My smarta$$ answer is 2 meters, or 5 foot 18.

And right on about those long flights -- NoDak, I've been there! There should be a bar/mark at 6 ft. with a sign that sez "You must be this tall to sit in an exit row"

Re: Tall Folks Thread

Ha thats great....just remember us short guys usually dont like to pee up to tallest urinal. The short one is usually occupied by a TALL guy. I dont have a leg room problem, but a width problem. I am 5'8", but 280lbs so i am a little wide. So not only do i have to try to pee up, but my shoulders are almost touching the tall a$$ guy peeing down in the short urinal........lol. The fun works both ways, especially since two of my good friends are at least 4-5 inches taller than me and they are GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Tall Folks Thread

I remember when the latest mazda miata came out at the LA auto show. I was all excited about the new "bigger" miata. I wanted one sooooo bad when they were first introduced. Well, I got into the thing, slid the seat as far back as it would go, reclined the seat back, and I actually was somewhat comfortable. But then I looked up out the windshield, and all I saw was the top cross bar of the windshield. I would have to do the "homeboy" lean to drive the damn thing.

On a flight from Fairbanks to Anchorage, Alaska Airlines seated two older ladies in an exit row (against FAA policy). Both had bad colds, and didn't appear to have the strength to lift a feather.

Meanwhile...myself and another oversized guy were crammed in the seats directly in front of them.

When the stewerdess asked both ladies to exchange seats with us...one of the "ladies" told her to F O !!!

6'4" here.........
I feel your pain.
I don't let my gf drive anywhere cause she has a ferd focus and with the seat allthe way back my knees are still in the dash. My house has one of those "spanish" entryways.....you know the round ones that is only about
6'2" and made of brick that scalps you if your not paying attention.

Re: Tall Folks Thread

Try being 6'8 6'9 on a good day and prob pushing 6'10 with my steel toes on. I try walking into Circiut City the other day and the damn door checked my hat to the floor. Just when you think your head radar is working to automatically duck OUCH! Oh yes I hate the questions on height. Still trying to think of a nice but good one for a comeback.

Re: Tall Folks Thread

^^just tell them 81"

They'll hurt themselves trying to convert that to feet.

Yeah, and those cast iron door closers are reeaallly hard...

Comebacks: 81" is good, or 2.25 yards, or 2.0574 meters, or barely over 1/100 of a furlong...

Here's a vicious one I heard recently: "Are those silicon or saline?"
