Article said it was dark when they got caught in it, so probably couldn't see it until it was too late, then misjudged how deep it was and couldn't get out.

they showed on the news this morning a traffic camera shooting into an under pass. Cars just flying along, and BAM..... 7-8 foot of water. Had to be a huge sad accident. You live here one rainy spell, and you should know better than to try to go under anything. Hell, the feeder roads flood when it rains more than 20 minutes.

Everyone in Houston knows not to drive under the underpasses when it has been raining. They always flood - I'm sure they knew there was water there - they just thought they could make it...Sad..
