Who are you talking about here? Are you saying that Kevin Tillman is a crybaby? Let me know if you've served, and if you have prove it.

I agree with you 100%. Of course you're going to have people in here that are just extreme right, and will not take the time to read it. Then you have the people with an open mind, that will take what he has to say to heart. Long live Pat Tillman, a true American Hero!!
It doesn't matter if I served does it? Look I'm not trying to diminish Pat Tillmans sacrifice to our country. I believe he should be and is honored for that. And I as a former soldier strongly support his brothers decision to form and air his opinions in a public forum. But why would someone post this article here and attach a politically biased comment and not expect to be scrutinized. I will admit that my comment is probably a little harsh and could possibly be viewed as a knee jerk reaction, but I have always supported our Presidents and thier administrations and wil continue to do so. We don't have all the inside of what's happening in this world. I trust that our government has our best interests in mind. I believe anyone should be able to air thier viewpoint but they must also realize that someone else might call it for what it is.

This is where I originally saw it, i went to this website so I could read EXACTLY what Kevin wrote instead of letting ESPN paraphrase it. This had nothing do with with any left wing agenda. This open letter was written by the brother of Pat Tillman, who honorably served as a Ranger, along side Pat in Iraq. So stuff your anti democratic BS in your piehole. You can "call this for what it is" It's thought provoking. It's real and honest. See through the BS, this is'nt a partisan attack. It's a call for Americans to take an honest look at the state of the Union, instead of taking the Presidents word for it. I personally take Kevin Tillman's assesment, much higher than the one given to us by our President. To get your boots on the ground in Iraq as a Ranger, and go through what he has gone through, I think makes him a much better judge that an elected official sitting in the comfort of his office recieving war updates. Even if it is the President. You can support the President , and hold him accountable at the same time. Sitting by and NOT questioning the President is UNAMERICAN. And I gaurantee you would NOT support Bush, if he was a Democrat right now.

I agree with everything you have to say here. I would, however, point out that trying to portray his letter as "nonpartisan" is not correct, given the dozen or more catch-phrases used in the letter.

Whoa, ok, so, wait a minute.... everyone says that Afghanistan was the right place to be, right? Because I would take issue with anyone that said otherwise... but he's got a problem with Iraq, even though he never went there...
This doesn't make sense.

Ummm they served in Operation Iraqi Freedom, they were well traveled in the region.
Recent Developments
Army
"Two battalions from the 75th Ranger Regiment have been confirmed as operating in Iraq. While it is known that the 1st and 3rd Battalions are in the region, it is believed that the rest of the Regiment are in country as well" http://www.globalsecurity.org/milita...bat_030421.htm
Pat Tillman and other's like him inspire me. They inspire me to help out in the most effective way that I can. At the start of this conflict I began to make a small difference helping out at the VA hospital because they need help. Now after a great deal of training I am a senior Nursing student and should graduate and take my licence exam to be a Registered Nurse next June. In order to be of use in the area of greatest shortage I came out of retirement and went back to school to get the skills needed to help out. Left wing - Right wing - who cares - our soldiers are getting hurt and Nurses to care for them are spread very thin. If you are unhappy with the way things are - do something usefull and change things for the better in this country and stop spending all the energy complaining. Hard work and helping others was always the American Way to do things and set an example for the rest to follow. Time to get out and make a difference in the world while there is still time left to do.

Wrong, he was on his second mission and was deployed to Afghanistan. They were initially deployed to Iraq in the Army, served thier tours, and came back for specialized training to be Rangers. They were then sent to Afghanistan, and that's where it took a turn to the worse.
Look, it's not about Republicans and Democrats. It's about understanding the FACTS, and that's what Kevin has brought us. If you watch ESPN, they had something on OTL (Outside The Lines), and they interviewed Pat's platoon. Each and everyone of them were very much pissed off on how the Army covered Pat's death up. Yes, there are a lot of soldiers in the war, and I support each and every one of them, but, Pat was the most recognizable one.
Again, it's not about Republican or Democrat; it's about what was covered up, and that is Kevin's grief. Not only losing his brother, his best friend, but also being betrayed by his own country. Since then, the Army has implemented new protocols for anybody who is killed in action. Wanna know where this came from..... Pat Tillman. The Man's Man, the Tremendous Athlete, the Scholar, and the true American Hero!
