Seeking opinion from insect and bug experts...

Around my house I have small, half to 1 inch diameter holes in the mosquito screen on windows and patio screens outside just in a couple of places. The house is only 3yo and screens are in good shape otherwise. It seem something chewed up on the screen. I suspect crickets. I have read they have strong mandibles that can chew through fibers and there are bunch of those crickets around these parts. Holes appear to be too small for mice, rats or small rodents. Anybody has any opinion what kind of pest could have caused such holes in the mosquito screen?

Thanks for any advice,
Regards,

Locusts have been known to do this kinda crap.

One remedy is to try spraying the screens with soap or vinegar...something they wont like the taste of:

Thanks a bunch for the info!!!I have seen big ol' green suckers parked outside my house a number of times...I bet it could have been one of those locusts.

At any rate, thanks,

Any nearby fire or brush clearings were hot ashes or embers could have landed on the screen and melted holes in? Seen that before.
