please help!! in the market for new car!!!

okay so im in the market for a car/suv... i have researched everything and here are my options...... suv= either an escalade /ext/esv, 03 land rover range rover., and as for a car= 03 bmw 745li, 03 mercedes s500, or a bmw m5... oh and i wish i coud afford a g500 for a suv... now im looking for a lil bit of room, performance, and good looks... i really want the m5, i think it would be lots of fun.... but im not too convinced and well the 745 speaks for its self as well as the s500.. i already have the titan, but it would be nice to have another big vehicle... as far as suv the range rover is sooooo nice and from what i read its the ultimate 4x4 suv, the only thing is that it does 0-60 like in 9 secs.. COME ON!! its a 4.4 v8 not that heavy and its that slugish??!! the escalade is nice but not not sure if i want the wifey to struggle it out with another big vehicle....PLEASE HELP Me!!! im looking to buy in the next week so please help!!!!

Everything you listed is very expensive to maintain, especially the Mercedes and BMW. You will pay at least 25 grand I'd guess, too. Land Rovers have quality issues. And do you really want to mess with I Drive?

For what you're spending, you can find an 2005 Armada or 2004 Lexus RX 300. A Toyota Avalon is nearly as good as a Lexus LS 430, but costs 1000's less.

Dont Get a Land Rover and or Range Rover Horrible Maintenence Reports! I work for UAG aka Lexus/Mercedes/Land Rover/Ferrari/Bently/Porche.... and the Land Rover Dealer is doing horrible!..... I like Mercedes S 500 but electronic systems are set to fail on them. Bmw 740Li is gorgeous and well rounded veichle.Low maintencence costs.. and reliable. Bad gas milage though. Escalade Sucks, American cars suck bottom line. Chevy/Ford/ETc... plainly suck.

Almost everything you list is a money sink on maintenance when bought used and a money sink on depreciation if bought new. Land Rover/Range Rover are just plain horrible. I sold my BMW 740 because the maintenace costs at 79k miles were nearly as much as the annual payments on the Titan. Worse yet is the spectre of a catastrophic failure that costs 50% or more of the value of the car to repair. I was an ardent follower of the 740 bulletin boards. There were guys with $20k used cars that had lunched an engine that would cost $12k to fix. Head gasket is $5k, cats are over $2k, transmission is $6k. Great, great cars to drive but I was scared to own mine any longer.

What is it with the brain dead idiots of America. The escalade is an OVER PRICED CHEVY Avalance. WHY would anyoneo be impressed because it has a Cadilac emblem on it..........its till a stinking Chevy. There isn't a domestic vechicle that impresses. If you truly need an SUV, Infinity or Lexus ( or save a few bucks and get the lightly less loaded Nissan or Toy), as far as cars try Acura TL, Infinity, or Lexus. And if have a family you care about, minivan wise, Honda Odyssey is it. BMW is the only European brand I would consider. I'd like a Porsche when I can afford to just look at it.....I've had friends with them and they do alot of shop time. There is a reason the big three are circling the toilet.

yea american cars do suck... the only reason i mentioned it is cause the wifey thinks they're "nice". i keep telling her that they are no good, and well u know how women are...
as far maintenance wise i would more than likely buy a warranty, i like the x5s but i think they are kind of small.. as far as the infinit qx 56 i think i am goin to have to consider it... i have had my titan for a year now i got it with 23000 miles it now has 71000 and never have i had a problem with it...

..... by the way it would be an e39 m5 not the e60, those are too much $$$$$$

if you're gonna do the car, either M5 or Acura TL. other than that, i would say go for the QX56 man. those are HAWT. (heck, you could even save a few grand and get a loaded armada over the qx56 & it's still an excellent choice). geez, i wish i had to make a decision like that...

I wouldn't buy a used luxury car unless it had an awesome warrenty,and Maintainence package trust me you are asking for trouble. My brother in-laws Merc tranny went out on him they quoted him $6000 to replace it he told them to shov it. He went to the Infiniti dealership and traded it in for the new M55 instead. Also you need to narrow your search it sounds like a wish list , your all over the board with your choices.Good luck with whatever you decide.

My wife is the opposite, she know about American cars and you couldn't give her one. She would rather drive a 10yr old Accord than any new domestic. She loves her Odyssey, like driving a taller Acura, quick and handles great with comfortable seating for 8, but as soon as the kids are driving themselves and their hockey gear, she wants a TL type S. She doesn't mind the Titan, but doesn't drive as sporty as she likes. She really misses our Integra, but two kids and a sports coupe don't mix.
