Re: can't get my drivers license without insurance
[QUOTE=BKW]I've never heard of any state requiring insurance to get a drivers license.
You may be right that no state requires insurance to get a drivers license.
But, I know that State Farm will not insure your car if you don't have a valid license, and the car is going to be driven on the highways.
They will sell you insurance for your car if you have no license, but the insurance is not applicable if you drive it on the road. The insurance is for theft, storm damage etc., in other words the vehicle is being stored or has a non op registration.

You prolly also know that CA requires insurance before a newly purchased car can be driven from a dealers lot. Some of the mega stores like Longo Toyota now have Triple A offices in the dealership.
What I find odd is, dealers don't always ask to see a drivers license.

CA now does. The DMV and Insurance companies are cross referencing there lists and if you have a DL and no Insurance the DMV is giving you 30 or 60 days ( can't remember ) to get insurance or you DL will be revoked until proof is submitted.
This is something that just recently went into effect.

Howsoever true this may be. All those topics you list are started by someone who actually OWNS A TITAN! They have also been members here for some time. This little girl makes no reference to such ownership and in fact, refers to her ride as a "car", which is certainly not a Titan. The odd part is not that the question was asked in "Off-Topic", it is the fact that it was asked by someone who most likely does not own a Titan and has joined this forum with the sole intent of asking a question completely unrelated to the purpose of this site.
I believe the website she was looking for was "GOOGLE".

Thanks for the aviso...didn't know that.
That's what I get for spending too much time on here, and not reading the papers.

Think it just went into effect on Dec 1st. May want to clarify the time frame but I do know its happening. This also was done to help lower insurance rates. It's now based on your record not the area you live in.
