Where is the love?

Has anyone else out there seen the March 2007 Car and Driver?

They selected the 5 best trucks for 2007 and here is their list of nominees:

Cadillac Escalade EXT
Chevrolet Avalanche
Chevrolet Colorado
Chevrolet Silverado
Ford Explorer Sport Trac
Ford F-150
GMC Sierra
Toyota Tundra

Anyone else see a problem here? Seriously a Chevy Colorado and a Ford Explorer Sport Trac made the list of nominees over the Titan. I'm not a huge Dodge fan, but they didn't even include the Ram.

Can you say biased media. I mean of course you knew that the Chevy or GMC truck would win. The staff at C&D have their mouths wrapped around so much GM and Honda (use your imagination here), that it never surprises me that those vehicles always win. Look at the list above 5 out of the 8 nominess are GM! But give credit where credit is due. The Titan and the Ram should have at least been included (Maybe even the Frontier or Tacoma considering the Colorado was included).

This is two major publications (Car and Driver and Petersen's Off-road) that have completely shut the Titan out.

No wonder why the aftermarket has been so slow for our truck.

Re: Where is the love?

They obviously don't have very high standards. Except for the Tundra, you couldn't get me to even consider any of those trucks.

Re: Where is the love?

I guess Nissan doesn't run enough advertising in Car and Driver.

Re: Where is the love?

The problem is the Titan usually wins these "shootouts" and I'm sure that gets boring real fast. These are more of the "If you couldn't buy a Titan, here's the best of what's left."

I don't understand why the F150 qualified and both the Ram and the Titan were excluded. At first I thought it was because everything they nominated was new or revised, but that isn't the case, because the F150 is from 04 just like the Titan.
