surgery sucks big time!!!

14 hours ago I went under the knife for deviated septum, sinus reduction, and tonsillectomy. I had several issues including sinus headaches that sucked.

so anyways I got this packing in my noise that looks like a damn tampon so i'm breathing through my mouth which has the tonsils cut! so drinking water is like so damn hard. Try holding your nose and drink. earlier I vomited blood. Damn anethesia made me nauseous.

I'm freakin tired but there's no way I can sleep. i've had colds where I can't breathe but not like this. in 7 hours I will go to the doctor to remove the packing. I don't care if it's congested, I just want some air!!!!

I know this is just temporary and it's gonna help me for the rest of my life but i just had to rant since I'm up!

Hardship makes us better people. It adds character.....

I know, I know, "SHUT UP, MAN! I can't breathe!" In a day or two you'll feel so much better and after some time, you won't even remember all the discomfort. Good luck and hope you get some relief soon.

Re: surgery sucks big time!!!

lol. been through a few hardships. maybe i should write a book..then make a movie. lol...

i'm reading some funny stories about this surgery here

http://dilbertblog.typepad.com/the_d...ng_under_.html

few excerpts...lol

that's how i feel

...........................

The packing was removed two days after surgery and it felt like two WATERMELONS (plus my brain) were being pulled out of my head. I couldn't help but recall the scene in Total Recall when Arnold Schwarzenegger pulled the tracking device from his nose

........................

just had the whole septoplasty/turbinectomy done a week ago...and it was the most painful experience of my life. There's so much about the procedure that they do NOT warn you beforehand! They use words like, "uncomfortable" and "miserable". How about using words like, "excrutiating", "face crushing" and "forget about breathing through your nose for the next couple of weeks".

And those nose tampons which are like 3 feet long by 1 foot thick and stretch the nose out to 5 times the normal size are a real treat. I think two queen size mattresses would be smaller.

Re: surgery sucks big time!!!

Dude, I so hope you feel better soon and get rid of that packing, but pardon me for saying I laughed out loud at your poor, miserable situation.

I'm sure that over time, you'll be much better off. You just have to get beyond these first few days.

Hang in there.

Regards,

John
