Let's say I break into your house

A lady wrote the best letter in the Editorials
in ages!!! It explains things better than all
the baloney you hear on TV.

Her point:

Recently large demonstrations have taken place
across the country protesting the fact that Congress
is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration.

Certain people are angry that
the US might protect its own
borders, might make it harder
to sneak into this country and,
once here, to stay indefinitely.

Let me see if I correctly understand
the thinking behind these protests.
Let's say I break into your house.
Let's say that when you discover
me in your house, you insist that I leave.
But I say, "I've made all
the beds and washed the
dishes and did the laundry
and swept the floors. I've
done all the things you don't
like to do. I'm hard-working
and honest
(except for when I broke into your house).

According to the protesters:< B>
You are Required to let me stay in your house
You are Required to add me to your family's insurance plan
You are Required to Educate my kids
You are Required to Provide other benefits to me & to my family
(my husband will do all of your yard work because
he is also hard-working and honest, except for that
breaking in part).

If you try to call the police or force me out,
I will call my friends who will picket your
house carrying signs that proclaim my
RIGHT to be there.

It's only fair, after all, because you have
a nicer house than I do, and I'm just
trying to better myself. I'm a hard-working
and honest, person, except for well,
you know, I did break into your house
And what a deal it is for me!!!

I live in your house, contributing only a
fraction of the cost of my keep, and
there is nothing you can do about it
without being accused of cold,
uncaring, selfish, prejudiced, and
bigoted behavior.

Oh yeah, I DEMAND that you to learn
MY LANGUAGE!!! so you can
communicate with me.

Why can't people see how ridiculous
this is?! Only in America .
if you agree, pass it on (in English).
Share it if you see the value of it.

If not blow it off.........
along with your future Social Security
funds, and a lot of other things.

Break into my house and the first thing you will contend with is the horse (95 pound German Shepherd security system). After him, you get to meet my friend Remington.
Too bad we can't use this procedure on the border.

The army would be of better use target practicing next to the border. That is what East Germany did and no one crossed the borders without being smarter than the armed soldiers

why do people get so upset over the illegals? This is America, it's not my house. The one's that have jobs have no social security number, thus they're paying into Social Security that they're never going to draw. this helps us out.

They can't get car insurance because they're illegal and can't get a driver's license. If the cops find them, the worst they can do is put them in jail overnight then let them go OR (on recognizance) in the morning...then they're back to their usual activities. Straight up, they're helping the economy but hurting the individual rights of the people in this nation. Keeping them "illegal" keeps the good one's on their toes and from doing anything too risky, which is good...but allowing them to get a DL and insurance would help us all out.

I know a very very nice Mexican illegal family (the wife is even making our Wedding cake, she's an excellent cook) they're both very friendly and work in a restaurant. They speak decent enough english and are the kind of people you would trust to watch your kids. now, the problem with this whole leave it to beaver family is that they can't get driver's licenses as their work visas expired and they stayed here illegally. Normally, I'd say bring in the marines and have them target practice on them as they leave for work, but once I got to know them I kinda feel lousy for them. Their 16 year old daughter (illegal as well) and 10 year old daughter(yup, illegal) both go to our schools. They drive a single old ford truck to work and to drop off their kids every morning, they walk everywhere else they can because they're scared to hurt someone in an accident because they have no way to pay for it. They left Mexico and everything they knew to come here on work visas so their kids could have better lives. They have nothing to go back to except crime and poverty. I hate sob stories as much as the next guy, but these folks are really screwed. they're not taking advantage of our systems in any way, except for the schools... and their kids speak very very good english. They don't pay taxes directly to the school because they rent, but the landlord does. They pay sales taxes, they don't have any welfare or disability or retirement and I doubt if they'd show up at the unemployment office, yet they're paying all the Social Security, state, federal, unemployment taxes that we pay.

They're not all bad, but I really think we need to strengthen the border with a whole lot of barbed wire and tell these folks about naturalization. Then again, though, the Native American's are prime example of what happens when you don't control immigration.

Illegal is illegal. Either come in legally or get them the hell out. May sound harsh, but I don't care. They are a drain on the economy and they do get benifits. Do you think they pay for the hospital they use? I don't care how nice they are they are illegal and should be dealt with properly.

I don't know about your state but here in NC, we give a driver's license to anyone (seriously, all you need is a bill with a home/apartment address and your name on it). In reality, it doesn't even matter if they have a DL. What effect does that have on Americans from driving, much less illegals. Your post makes this quite clear when you state that they have a ford pickup. Private owner doesn't care about selling an illegal a car, give them the cold hard cash and off they go. And they came here illegally, why bother with insurance. We already know they have no problem breaking the law. Even on that point, we have insurance companies that cater directly to illegals. Additionally, SS#, what's that and who cares? Either they get one illegally or they get none at all and are being paid under the table (no taxes reported by employee and employer and now we are losing big time). Additionally, do you think they (employeers) offer them health insurance and that they buy in? Do they pay medicare if they are being paid under the table? Nope, but if they get sick, they don't go back to their native country for treatment, do they? Just go down to your friendly local hospital and get free health care that you and I pay for, on top of the fact that I already have to pay $500 a month for my family to have health insurance. Now that is some BS that impacts my wallet directly. Because my state has such a high rate of illegals and they use our health system, don't pay and create that vaccum, I spend more than twice what it used to cost me for insurance. Think about that. Just my 2 cents.

BTW, I hate to attack anyone on a board but the above post by kellyj00 is the most idiotic post that I've seen on this board in my short time here!

The drain on the economy, most of it in taxes, is astronomical.

By definition "illegal" is breaking the LAW - This is just wrong - any ANYTHING that transpires from that point foward is also in fact JUST WRONG! Any argument to the contrary is also just wrong - however - as my Father died in military service to give anyone who belongs in America freedom of speech I will always respect your right to talk - that is if you have a right to be in this country in the first place and are not breaking THE LAW!
