Thanks, old is a word I've heard allot since joining but as I've said many a time to all the young bucks I serve with, the only number that matters is your physical fitness test score. OK, your composite score for promotion matters too but I've always had to battle the fact of my joining so late in life, so being in the best shape possible goes a long way as well as having more "life experience" IMO.
Fortunately, I have been able to maintain a first class PFT score throughout my career. As you may remember, it's only 200 for our age group, 300 being a perfect score. I've been able to hold above a 250 with my old azz trying to represent the old guys man...
I will have to make a correction to my previous statement about no regrets. The one regret I do have is not joining back in 88 when I graduated high school instead of waiting till I was 32, lol.
Honestly, if 911 wouldn't have happened, I probably never would have joined. I was at a crossroads in my life back in 2002 and that's the choice I made. It has given me an edge in my "civil service" aspirations. Now, I'm approaching my midlife crisis, lol...

The only thing about joining right outta H.S. is you don`t get a good taste of the outside/civilian/real world....I wish i had waited a few years so i would have got a taste of the other side of life first...Live and learn....
I could always get a perfect 300 on my PFT...That was 25+ yrs ago though...
The reasons why there is a Memorial Day should never be forgotten.
Thanks to all who have served and particularly those who have given everything.
