If it says Rolex, and costs less than $12000, it's a dud....

Re: anybody know about watches?

If your buying it out of the back of a van on Walmart's lot, or if your buying it at Walmart, it's a fake. Or if it has only one hand, could be a fake.

The only way I know of to be sure is to purchase from an authorised Rolex dealer. Don't get ripped off.

http://rolex.com/en/index.jsp#/en/xml/index

Just a note: I found wearing my watch quite uncomfortable. Having the value of the average home on my wrist - even though it was a gift - made me very concerned. I put it away in the bank safe deposit box and purchased a Russian Millitary Commander's watch off eBay for $20 brand new. Very impressive looking - Keeps as good time as the fancy watch - just as water proof - and if I loose it in the ocean I don't need to have a heart attack. Just a thought. There are better thing in life to spend $$ on - like Mods for the Titan!

Re: anybody know about watches?

I'm a Tag Heuer fan myself. I do like the Rolex Yacht-Master II in white gold. Pretty nice watch there.

Re: anybody know about watches?

if it ain't heavy it's a fake...

since i have big balls and was bored one day, i walked into a jewler with a fake watch... i walked up to the guy and said "hey, how fake do you think this is" we both had a nice laugh, i then walked out and handed my friend back his watch....
