Well, kinda long story but here it is. We got to our condo Oceans with Elliot rental in N. Myrtle Beach at about 6:30 Sat. night. Their office closes at 7:00. We walked into the front door and stepped in about 2 inches of water which was soaking a big mat covering the tile floor. I start calling them at about 7:00 and get the answering service and tell them that it is flooded from the storm I guess. I called three times and was told that it wasn't an emergency. So we worked and cleaned the mess up. We started looking through the condo and seen it had not been cleaned at all. I was told this was also not an emergency but after about three more calls we were told we would be moved first thing in the morning but we cleaned the condo so we didn't have to stay in the nastiness. I took these pictures and more, plus the receipts for the pics and cleaning supplies to the office first thing Sun. morining. While I waited to speak to a manager, I overheard three other people getting money back for one night due to the same problem. I was told that we would not be moved after all. I was reinbursed for the pics, cleaning supplies, and one night's cost of the condo. I was ok with that. I left after asking for a new rug since the floor is slick. I hadn't received it after a while so I called. Still no rug. My four year old came out of our bedroom, took a couple of steps on the tile and fell hard on his hip. While my wife was having our son taken care of, I called the office back and I was pi$$ed. I calmly told them what happened and the moron on the phone said, "shouldn't you be taking care of your son instead of calling us?" I informed her my wife was having it done then and she asked again, so I told her the same thing again. She then said "so what am I supposed to do? Do you think it is our fault or something?" I said "He!! yes it is your fault, I told you people last night and today about 6 or 7 times that the rug was soaked and the floor was slick that we need a new one and you have ignored my request for a new one and you didn't even get the water up to start with." I was then transferred to a manager. Someone finally came at about 4:00 Sun. evening to clean, the service manager with two cleaners. They were great, they couldn't apologize enough and cleaned everything in here for us. I could never get anyone to tell me the name of the property owner or a number or anything. These people told me his name, that the two people who were supposed to have cleaned it were fired, and that they have seen people with not even half the mess get a full week for free. They said we should get at least half of our week for free, that they had never seen one in this bad of a condition. After what happened to my son, I started thinking this isn't such a bad idea and I am going Mon. morning to talk to the owner and show him these pictures. Not to mention I scraped the top of my truck on one bolt in the parking garage. Sorry for the rant, but I needed to vent.
Holy crap! What a mess! That's just poor managing. They owe you bigtime for all that and especially for b!tching to you about not caring for your son! Someone else should definitely be paying for your stay! Hope it gets better and your son is not too sore.
You shouldn't have to clean floors and bathrooms on your vacation. They ruined it, they should pay.

i'd be pretty pissed off too if I showed up for my vacation and found popcorn and pubes all over my floor... and to **** up my titan on top of it all... ah man.
That wasn't a timeshare was it? We've been vacationing in timeshare condos for 19 yrs and never saw anything close to that. We complained to RCI about a unit that needed to be painted and carpets replaced and they appologized, said they would investigate, and comped us a week in another resort. Sorry to hear about such a mess on vacation. We've had a bad stay at a Sleep Inn with a major water leak during a hockey trip, but nothing like you experienced. I would have torn someones head off and did unmetionable things with the corpse, glad you have more composure than I. Hope the rest of the vacation worked out. We are heading to our condo at Cocoa Beach in Oct, but we own there so we know what to expect. I'll definately check condos before we go to Myrtle Beach, hows the golf?

Ok, been w/o internet for a day or so. I went back and would not shut up until I was able to talk to the owner. The woman at the desk tried to give me more free linens to make up for it but when I got to the owner and told him what was going on, he took me to his office and I showed him some pictures and gave him the whole story. He said he didn't want to see the rest of the pictures. He said "I guarantee that we do not do business this way, and whomever had given me any problems would not be working for him by the end of the day." He also told me that when I came back next year that he would give me a "big, big discount." He also moved us to a four bedroom condo which is a lot nicer (about double the cost of the one I was in) and gave me another night of money back. My in-laws joked that they were going to send me back so we could move to the penthouse. Here is a pic of the top of my truck after I scraped a low bolt in the first place.
