07 supercharged harley f150

has anybody ran across one of these. there is one here that lives in my 'hood but have yet to run 'em. looks like the s/c is a 6k option, according to the articles.

http://www.caranddriver.com/previews...ed.html?al=139
http://www.caranddriver.com/carnews/...ed.html?al=139

here are some of the highlights (or low-lights as the case may be)for you lazy bastages.....

Ford started building supercharged ’07 Harley-Davidson editions in early May and has started shipping the pickups for sale this summer. The automaker will only make 1500-2000 as ’07s. The ’08s will go into production in August and land at dealerships in September. Massara estimates sales for a full model year could be in the 3000-5000 range.

For the performance boost from 300 horsepower to 450, the truck, complete with a 5.4-liter, three-valve Triton V-8 from the Romeo, Michigan, engine plant, is shipped from the Dearborn Truck Plant to Saleen for the upfit of the mill. Horsepower is formally listed as 450, but Ford says it repeatedly pumps out numbers in the low 470s on the dyno.
We expected some serious stampede-ability from those huffed horses, but we were a little let down. Ford’s engineers claim the supercharger is tuned for more subtle engagement, but we’d say it’s too subtle. In the lower part of second gear, the difference between half-throttle and full-throttle is indistinguishable. The Fordley felt only marginally quicker than the Toyota Tundra we drove in our April pickup comparo. With an extra 50 horsepower, we’d expect better, although that’s in line with the 5.7-second 0-to-60-mph sprint we recorded for the SEMA FX2 when we tested it in April.

I haven't driven one yet but you have to remember that is CRANK HP...not rwhp. Deduct 20% for driveline parasitic loss and you are looking at 360 rwhp. BUT.... turning up a blower is cheap and easy... Making 400+ to the wheels. ALL car munfacturers use estimated crank hp.

Re: 07 supercharged harley f150

I'm not talking **** but the show "Trucks!" built a single cab Stage 3 Roush F-150 and it's supposed to have 500 hp and it only mustered a 15.0 1/4 mile time. What is up with that, it just doesn't seem right? If thats any indication, than I wouldn't be too worried about the HD F-150.

Yeah but they didn't change the tranny or the rearend gears. It takes more than HP to go fast.

Yeah those guys on "Trucks" just don't do enough. They make HP but stop there. Dyno queens. Change the tranny, gears and add a FTVB to clean up the shifts and it will be LOW 14's HIGH 13's. Add a lower pulley and a good tune and make even more HP.

They are saying 450~470 crank HP. Thats a good number for a production V8.

Close the the V10 Dodge.
