American Hero lost...

Paul Tibbets, who piloted the B-29 bomber Enola Gay that dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, died Thursday.

He saved at least tens of thousands of American and allied lives and many Japanese lives as well since the full force of the Allies would have been turned on Japan following Victory in Europe. He also helped end the huge economic drain on our country and our allies.

He was just a man who did his job and did it well. He wasn't proud to have killed as many people as he did, nor was he ashamed of it.

Anyone who has ever talked to this man surely would be impressed with his knowledge on any topic as well as his openess. He flew the state of the art Bomber at the time and commanded one of the air wings. His son, now does the same as his Dad did. He flys stealth bombers and did/does command the air wing.

RIP Paul Tibbetts. I wonder if he has the highest kill count out of any service person?
