Interesting that this information was released so early. Rumor has it that it will be available sometime in mid 08. They finally got rid of the after-thought instrument cluster which always seemed flimsy to me. It also looks like Nissan has been paying attention to interior material quality. I drove a Rogue last week and was impressed with the interior improvements, but the interior is a bit tight for my height.
Back to the Murano, there are some controversial styling elements in the new design. The front headlights and grill are a bit more futuristic looking, a bit out there. Body lines are a bit more sculpted and the front fender/hood ridges suggest that maybe this design spent some time in the wind tunnel. I expect this to be a very quiet ride and good directional characteristics. The current Murano was not bad to begin with. Built on the Altima D platform, it has promise of reduced torque steer and improved handling. Looking forward to driving one.

I dunno about this exterior change (interior looks great). The grill looks more along the line of the Subaru B9 Tribeca which, IMHO, looks like crap. The front stance with the headlights and fogs looks too much like a Buick Enclave or GMC Acadia. And it definitely needs to have the chin spoiler/front fascia drop all the way down to hide the under carriage. All that exposed up front looks cheap like the old RAV4. It looks like no one could agree on what to do below the grill so they just left it blank. The old Murano looked completely finished, this looks like a bunch of design cues and points borrowed and slapped together. Just my .02.

These are actually one of the best built cars that Nissan makes. The Murano and the 350Z are the only models still built in Japan, very few problems.
I really like the new front end on the 09's,the old grille was the only thing I never cared for on the car.
The interior room is unbelievable
