I looking to see what has happened in your life to make you the so proud that you would brag about it to friends or family.
It could be anything from creating a video game, surviving a horrible accident, beating cancer, having a famous relative, making it on TV(not cops or American's Most Wanted either) having the greatest family life, creating a child , ect.
I survived an accident where the Ford Explorer I was in was sideswiped on the freeway going 75mph, causing us to lose control, flip 4 and a half times, land on the roof, and skid upside down for 350 feet on the pavement on I-10. The guy that sideswiped us didn't stop either. Short summary of what happened...Explorer I was in was in left lane going 75...old Ford pickup comes up right to our rear bumper tailgating...driver of Explorer taps brake lights, then moves over to right lane. Ford truck driver comes up besides us and tries to cut us off then slam on the brakes..but he sideswiped our front end instead and that's when we crashed.
F*** that, there is no way in hell you would get me up there like that. You would have to shoot me, because I am less afraid of being shot than to climb up something like that. Sorry to hi jack the thread, but I got knots in my stomach looking at those pics. If you can't tell I don't like heights.
Ok so my story goes like this, I grew up in the ghetto in TX my dad was in prison until I was 7 (mom stayed with him) all the males in my family (except my grandfather) have been in jail or prison. Most people in my family are drug addicts/alcoholics (dad use to shoot up in front of me) or use to be, so all this had me leave home when I was 16. I got an apartment with a friend, worked late nights while still going to high school I was the first one in my family to graduate high school in 15 or so years. Joined the Army at 19 and never looked back, I am the proud father of 3, I have been married (second wife) for 10 years now. I have a big house, lots of toys (9 motorcycles, including ones for the kids). My kids have never had to see any kind of struggles or bad things like I did growing up I saw my first dead body at 12 and she was a family friend stabbed 100 times. I have told my life story many times and while I was in college during a speech class I left many in tears and asking me to speak to their kids. I just like to tell people this, to show it’s not a matter of where you come from but how you react to.
My dad and mom are still together and my dad has been sober and on the straight and narrow for 16 years now. Heck I have them and my sister and her son coming up to WA to spend Christmas in Leavenworth WA (German Town in the Mountains) for the very first white Christmas!
Great wife, that lets me do all the things I want with no nagging, and 2 great kids doing great in school. My oldest son got invited by the People to People foundation to go to England this summer because of his achievements in school. And both my kids got their first deer this year.
I'm mostly proud of my grandfather. He's worked everyday except sunday since the age of 9, yesterday he turned 82, he finally quit working on saturday so the younger guys could take the hours and make more money. He built a trucking company with my father who now runs it but has let it downsize since pop can't keep up with the books like he used to, however I offered to take it on. I spent the day off and half my saturday fixing the spare truck and pulling the rear out of another truck this past week on my own dime because of the pride I have for what the 2 biggest influences in my life have done. He has over 40 years of untiring dedication to the local volunteer fire company. He's donated to mulitiple churches his entire life. The thing I'm most proud of is his undying love for my grandmother. She has been in bed for the past 15 years, however he never once stopped taking care of her. She is now in nursing care full time in a home because pop can't do it all anymore. I call him pop, his name is Pete, Like Saint Peter. I believe he is just that, a saint.
I layed the biggest log at my house. I know it does't compare with some of the above posts, but it's all I got. It would of stuck out of the water if it didn't slide down the hole in the toilet. It was a 2 flusher. I own the turd crown in my household. All hale the king Anyone get a real since of accomplishment after they drop a massive deuce?
