It was snowing and we had 3 to 4 inches on the ground.
Situation:
On the way to work climbing a average grade hill the mini van owner in front me decided not to pay attention to where they were driving. Thier right side wheel caught the snow drift on the side of the rode and they started fish tailing across the road. I need to avoid demolishing the mini van so I stopped before getting too close to the van.
Well, I assume the guy behind me (driving a 4runner) was not paying attention and slammed on brakes. Last thing I saw was him off the right side of my truck in a 4-5' snow bank. The mini van got going again so I perceeded on. Looking in the rear view I could see he was stuck. I felt bad so I turned around.
I then pulled up next to him and asked if he had tow ropes and I would attempt to pull him out. He didn't. I then proceeded to turn around again and checked my storage comparment under the bed. I found a small tie down strap and I went and hooked up. This guy did not know the first thing about getting pulled out since he kept trying to turn his wheels to one side. I tried to educate him but it did not work. So I just decided to put it in 4 Low and bouce it a little. It worked and I set him free to smoke some more ciggarettes.
He blamed his hitting the snow bank on his ABS brakes. Its sad to know how many people still don't understand how ABS brakes work after all these years. Anyway, the Titan owned a Toyota this morning!
Cliff Notes:
Guy stuck in tall snow bank with Toyota 4runner
Titan yanked him out
Guy was not brightest holiday light!
