Re: Call of Duty 4

Is it similar to CoD 2 for the PC? If so, I don't think I'd like it. It was too linear, not enough strategy. I was hoping it would be more along the lines of BF2, with squad based tactics and wide-open maps. Any comments from the PC players?

p.s. Look me up as Sammy_Sandbag on BF2 (also on any games on Steam.)

All PC here:
I enjoyed CoD 2, but CoD4 seems to be a better challenge, as well as modern. While it is still linear in the most basic of terms, I am going thru it for the third time now, and it is a BLAST!
I don't do much online play, so I'm not sure about multi-player, but in the single player game, you are always with a squad.

Trying to get airlifted out of the mission with the ferris wheel. WTF, that's hard as hell!

Re: Call of Duty 4

dont know how CoD 2 was. but in modern warfare, airstrikes and helicopter backup can be called in after 5 and 7 consecutive kills. this is playing online though. i hardly even touched the single player mode.
tactically, i personally believe its awesome. with online gameplay, multiple games can be set up (domination, team deathmatch, free for all, search and destroy, headquarters, etc...) give it a try! headquarters is awesome because you actually fear for your life, instead of trying to get the most kills...

Re: Call of Duty 4

I'll probably get it eventually once the price comes down. What I'd really like is an update to BF, other than 2142 (which is nothing more than a skinning of BF2.) That, and for EA to stop being a bunch of money-grubbing a-holes.

that ferris wheel mission is AWESOME!!! you just have to make sure you plant the claymores in a good position. The key to beat that is to have two sniper rifles (M14 and the Dragnov) then just switch in between the two. It's not that hard, but it's intense and extremely long. I absolutely love CoD 4, it's the best of them all.

BTW, I have it for PC and the name is....wait for it.....wait for it....JUDAY!!!

Let me know any time you feel like getting your arses kicked. I have yet to join a room where I haven't been #1 at the end. Oh, and I play in hardcore mode, none of that sissy crap. Let me know, we can start a Titan clan and hand the world their asses!!!
