I know how busy days can be for us and the last thing you may want to do is take the time to read a bunch of stuff that you have little to no interest in. I decided to send this to as many people that I could think of because this is something that has recently started to become a passion of mine.
Within the last year, I've started to read Readers Digest. I love this little periodical because it provides great bathroom reading and it touches on just about every topic that you can think of in this day and age. For some reason, its also one of the very few magazines that I find I read from page 1 to the end. I find that I read the articles that are most interesting to me in other magazines but I have no problem reading an entire RD.
Within the year, I've found that RD will periodically have articles on how the government spends or should I say waste tax payers money. The figures that they give are astonishing and at first all I could say was wow. I mean, I've always known that tax spending was something that we as a government could improve on but this was more than I ever imagined. I then started to look closely at my pay stubs from week to week and the information that I had obtained from the articles just started to make me mad.
I started to look up information in other areas and found more examples of how the government wastes tax payers' money without blinking an eye. I don't claim to be a politician, but it is getting close to election time. While every topic is important, I hope that the candidates that are at the top of your list hold taxes and government spending at the top of theirs. A poor economy is a fast way to a destructive society.
It's easy to say that the US deficit is due to things that are out in your face such as the war in Iraq. After doing a little research, I've found that you could combine the amount of funds spent on any two US wars and it still would not exceed the amount tax dollars wasted in any year on other things not made mainstream by our government or the media. At this point, I'm not interested in lowering taxes as much as I'm interested in eliminating the wasteful spending of taxes. In theory, if this is done the lowering of taxes in conjunction with our people putting those in office with this same agenda should occur.
