Actually, a 4500rpm launch can be done all day in an EVO or STI. I don't see this being an issue with the new GTR at all. It would definitely be better if it was manual shift as to where I can do a 5000-5500rpm launch instead. But either way, this vehicle is going to be able to shift so fast through the gears that it's not humanly possible to shift faster.

Re: Nissan GT-R

This car has me doing some serious thinking. I planned on buying an 05 + corvette next year, but I may be waiting a year (maybe a lil longer) and looking into one of these. If it comes to the US anywhere near the way it is supposed to, it will definetaly be worth the coin. If anyone comes up with more info on this please post.

Re: Nissan GT-R

I am also seriously considering buying one of these, although I am going to wait a year or so after its release.

Re: Nissan GT-R

I've decided to do the same thing and wait for 2010. We want to wait and see if the EVO model comes out.

Nice spec sheet. They have dropped the hammer and raised the gauntlet!!!

Why??? The Mitsu's and Subies have known of the GTR from day one. The Mitsu and Subie are more engineered towards rally racing. The GTR is more of a supercar/luxury on the pavement.

You are a bit wrong too. The R32, R33, R34 GTRs all came with a 2.6 ltr in line 6 twin turbos (RB26DETTs) and AWD with ATTESSA also. The GTS models came with a 2.5 ltr in line 6 single turbo (RB25DETs) and in RWD drivetrain.

As for pricing, they can be found at MSRP if you search good. But there are dealer than have marked them up as high as $40k over MSRP. IMO this car failed to impress me so far. If this car is going to be as anal as the Japanese version, then is not worth it. In Japan they can't be modded at all. If you take it to the track, you have to go directly to a GTR supportive Dealer and have it inspected and I believe that comes out of pocket or the warranty will be voided.
