Re: Nissan GT-R

That car is going to be awesome. Just think of the potential. You know nissan had to choke it off to get it over here. I heard the reason it took so long for the U.S. to get it is because of emissions.

Re: Nissan GT-R

Don't get me wrong........I have ONE complaint i guess. Not bad, as I am very critical. That special launching feature is very intricate and looks to be hard on the vehicle. That's it.....my only complaint. Other than that, that is one f'ing awesome car!!!!!

Re: Nissan GT-R

I'm sure Nissan built a strong tranny to withstand that abuse. If they didn't have a good tranny, they wouldn't have a twin turbo setup and that option to dump at 4500rpm. I'm glad Nissan is bringing their powerhouse. Hope Toyota does the same with the Supra.

Re: Nissan GT-R

It's idiot proof. Anyone can make perfect launches. Nice technology for the price.

Re: Nissan GT-R

They had a big article on it in Motor Trend this month. Proof will be in the delivery, looking forward to seeing how the production models drive out.

Re: Nissan GT-R

try $85k. most dealers will get 4-6 a year.

awesome car! i saw it today at the wash dc auto show. rep said the ECU is tamperproof, so unlike previous skylines, modding will be limited. no turbo swaps, no piggyback ecu, should be fine in my opinion!

oh, and it IS the fastest mass production car to hit Nuerburgring. the other few cars that have quicker times are limited edition (rare production) or prototypes GTP or F1 cars.

that's awesome. when i first heard they were using a V6, my first thought was, why downgrade to the other nissan 6 cyl platforms like the 350z and G35, BUT infact they engineered a new V6 which is also stronger and faster than the previous 8 cyl versions of the skyline. they also maintained the AWD system, amateur drifting in the walmart parking lot here i come! lol

Re: Nissan GT-R

ummm, no such thing as a 8 cyl skyline. the R34 was an inline 6. so was the R33 i think... those used a single turbo tho (which is better, IMO)

and yes, this is a brand new 3.5 v6, not the VQ used in other nissans. also, this is their new ATTESA ETS awd trans, not the same as used in the g35x
