WHAT are you voting for?

I don't know if it's true, but if it is, this says a lot.

I'm also not saying that Obama knew about it, or agrees with it, but it does say a lot about the mindset of some of his supporters.

Like I always say...a vote for a democrat is a vote for socialism

Re: WHAT are you voting for?

Obama is an idiot. Why do I say this? Here is a taste of what is already in motion, a U.N. tax on Americans and what is to be if in office.

http://www.aim.org/aim-column/obamas...r-senate-vote/

"Senator Joe Biden, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has not endorsed either Senator Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton in the presidential race. But on Thursday, February 14, he is trying to rush Obama's "Global Poverty Act" (S.2433) through his committee. The legislation would commit the U.S. to spending 0.7 percent of gross national product on foreign aid, which amounts to a phenomenal 13-year total of $845 billion over and above what the U.S. already spends..."

Screw that! If this is a global effort to fight poverty, lets get every nation to "donate" 0.7% of their gross domestic product (which will never happen.) And even if it did, we are back to nations seeking entitlement rather than opportunity. This is dangerous stuff, from a rookie idealist... (grrrr)

Here is the bill if anyone wants to sift through it:

I'm afraid that the dems are going to win. It's going to be a big ole Sh!t sandwich and we are all gonna have to take a bite.

Re: WHAT are you voting for?

Not a big a Obama fan...but if you want to talk about idiots...republicans have a few choice examples as well...

Personally, I'd rather 'waste' billions in aid than in a never ending pointless war... Although I'm feeling more and more comfortable with isolationist policies lately.

Re: WHAT are you voting for?

I like it that McCain hasn't bowed to the neocons and the christian righteousness charlatans. I hope he drives Limbau (sp?) to drink and Coulter to get back on her dildo. Huckabee is charming, but he doesn't have my vote for him. Anyone that can bring us back to the middle, if its possible, has my vote.

Pointless?

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/...n3749494.shtml

Piro says Saddam intended to produce weapons of mass destruction again, some day. "The folks that he needed to reconstitute his program are still there," Piro says.

"And that was his intention?" Pelley asks.

"Yes," Piro says.

"What weapons of mass destruction did he intend to pursue again once he had the opportunity?" Pelley asks.

"He wanted to pursue all of WMD. So he wanted to reconstitute his entire WMD program," says Piro.

"Chemical, biological, even nuclear," Pelley asks.

"Yes," Piro says.

I have no doubt that the defiant dictator would have done so.

I agree, there are no decent candidates on any ticket this election. Frankly, I am considering voting democratic this round and let the party totally screw things up, triggering a national out cry and citizen unification to take back our government as it was intended, local control by the people, for the people. Probably not in my lifetime, unfortunately.

Re: WHAT are you voting for?

I look at what is going on around us and I cannot help but think that the Country is going to he** in a handbasket. (That Hillary is carrying) Every time I complete one of the online "match your views with a candidate" questionnaires, Huckabee comes up #1. It is a shame that he's not even in the running at this point.

Question for kman...what is it about the "middle" that appeals to you?

Okay, we all know that (like most all dictators) Saddam wanted to rule the world, wanted a strong army, etc. etc. Point is though, he had nothing...meanwhile other 'axis of evil' countries have much more in the way of nuke tech, wmd's, etc. etc. We neutered Saddam after the gulf war...he just did a bunch of talking because he needed to appear strong, both regionally, and to keep power in his own country. FACT is, there were no WMD's in Iraq, and there was no connection to terrorism. Now, after occupying the country, the region is less stable, we lost sight of Osama, our military resources are spread too thin, and military spending is out of control and hurting our country (gotta love Bush's genius philosophy of spending more and cutting taxes)...so yeah... it was pointless.

I think GWB jr. let a personal vendetta cloud his judgment when it came to Iraq. His own father advised against but he had something to prove...and my mind he succeeded in proving...something. He proved he's an idiot who was undeservedly handed power his entire life thanks to the merits of his father.

Did I mention I f'ing hate Bush Jr.

I hope this didn't come off as a personal attack...I just really don't like the guy.

We may not have found the WMD's, but they were there. Probably went to Syria before we kicked their a$$es. Besides...here is what Saddam did have...Money, motive & intent. In today's world, to me that's enough to undertake a preemptive strike.

Re: WHAT are you voting for?

Some things are necessary, whether we like them or not. This will not be our first war in this region, or our final war. Even if part of our intelligence may have been incorrect, it was still the right thing to do. As for the long term effect on the people, giving people opportunity and freedom to be their best will lead us to peace.

Frankly, Pakistan, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Venezuela, and many other regions are going to be other brush fires that need occasional spray of water to keep the fire from getting out of hand. Until we achieve our utopian world, this is how things go.

Isolationism is not an answer, it is limbo and counter productive. The world moves fast and furious. Future generations may find that hiding under a shell of isolationism for any length of time turns them into idealistic and intellectual sheep, prime to be overtaken or slaughtered by any carnivorous regime seeking easy prey. Lebanon II in America- the sequel.
