Re: Caught in the Crosshairs of Bill and Hillary Clinton.

By the way, Kennedy was also a dumb@ss.
GWB is a dumb@ss.

Just proves both parties are equally capable of electing dumb@sses. I think it is VERY dangerous to elect individuals who are simply products of their wealthy family, rather than someone who has worked hard and staked out a fortune of their own.

I guess you must like Hillary and Obama since they are ready to quit and run. Do you think either one would make a good President or be idiots like Bush and Kennedy. I think I know your answer.

This is a paper I did on Viet Nam, while attending college, after I retired from Halliburton, in 1999 or 2000

I glad that you didn't have to make that decission.
I worked with and rode dirt bikes, in 1970/71, with a guy that made that decission. He lived in Canada a couple of years, and then came to Calif and worked under an assumed name, until the FBI caught up with him. He was a deserter because he was in the service, just out of boot camp, when he ran.
After a day of dirt bike ridding, we started talking about Viet Nam, he told me, that if he had it to do all over, that he would have gone to Viet Nam even if he knew that he would be killed there. I never knew his real name or where he was from, and never heard from him agin after he was picked up.

My simple take on the Candidates:

Hillary Clinton = Democratic Establishment. Will be similar to Bill Clinton, only not as good: a little more left leaning, and divisive.

Obama = An Unknown. He doesn't have a lot of history in politics, is that good or bad? Could be a great president...could be the worst ever...hard to say.

McCain = Republican Establishment...but less of the religious right's b*tch than Bush was (a very good thing) but also is a typical politician who is very much in bed with lobbyists etc... In order to win the party nod, he's made himself out to be VERY conservative...hopefully he swings back to middle and makes for a good choice.

None of the final candidates have me thrilled (as is usually the case). I'm curious to see the democratic and republican candidates take on issues once the primaries are over.

This year, I don't see any idiots...but Obama has the potential to be one given his lack of experience.

So, did you guess right?

Thanks for a honest opinion. I too am not thrilled with any of these presidential hopefulls. None seems to be willing to stop the influx of illegals from the south. McCain will fight if neccessary but I think Hill or Obama would be leary of fighting because the antiwar dems would pound on them. We would then have the same policies as Bill had of hit them in an open field where no one got hurt and nothing of value is destroyed even though thousands of us might get killed in a terrorist attack. I have other problems with the dem canditates because of their stands on things that I care about. This Obama guy is one scarey dude. I can only imagine the White House with him in office. I could easily see Jesse Jackson as Sec of defense and Sandy Burger in charge of all secret papers. Don't want to think of others he might bring in.

Question Re: Caught in the Crosshairs of Bill and Hillary Clinton.

No candidate on either side has ever received full approval or has the full qualifications to run the country. The Presidency has outgrown one individual and yet we expect that individual to be all things to all people.

Now we're choosing candidates who best represent us on core or vital issues we feel strongest about and have a variety of reasons for voting that way.

If you were to choose a candidate based upon one issue, what would that issue be and what candidate would you choose?

Re: Caught in the Crosshairs of Bill and Hillary Clinton.

You know, I read stories like this, and on one hand, I want to believe it’s true, but on the other I think to myself, the ex-president of the united stated would never threaten, have someone’s cat killed, flatten tires ETC.

But then again if they hadn’t found semen on that dress most people would still believe Monica was making it up….. So who the hell knows what’s BS and what’s true today.

Re: Caught in the Crosshairs of Bill and Hillary Clinton.

What I don't understand is what someone's personal life has to do with their public/professional life?

The list of Presidents who had mistresses alone would negate many of our forefathers and a good chunk of our history.

I do not condone lying when questioned in a legal context but if someone can prove that someone's personal life impacts his/her professional life, THEN I would take issue with the situation that is posted on the thread.

Apparently, there's a secret list of transgressions that we will and will not overlook somewhere?
