when Bush writes his memoirs (sorry when Barbara writes...) i wonder what he/she will say about how lil'Bush used his privelege to avoid vietnam, will he ask for forgiveness? Although i haven't read Obama's book, it would be interesting to contrast what appears to be an openess into the man's soul, to the curious george childrens book that Barbara will write.

The one thing the book could say about George is that at least he stood on the fence. He might have stayed out of the war but he was next in line to go. A lot of folks would not even stand on the fence, they found it easier to stand in Canada or Europe and protest those that did answer the call. I can think of one notable arse who occupied the White House prior to Bush.

Yep he showed up, got counted, and promptly left...never to be seen again.
Kept his nose clean while providing absolutely no service to our country...my hero.
I heart bush.
At least other people took a stand and said, I'm against this war, I disagree that it is protecting our country, and will not fight it. Bush, was apparently ok with the war, thought it was necessary, yet used his privilege to get out of actually having to serve.
F*ckin P*ssy.
It's absolutely no surprise to me that a man like that has carelessly endangered soldiers in a clusterf*ck like Iraq.

All Time Favorite TitanTalk Quote (in response to what type of Gasoline is best):
I personally prefer whatever's cheap. I'd club baby seals to death and squeeze oil from their limp little bodies if I could save a buck - Mr B
I spent 4 years as a US Marine. I am thankful that during that time, the most dangerous places I visited were Cuba, and Los Angeles .
We trained hard, did a lot of exercises to prepare for combat, shot our rifles, I even got to drive the modified version of the LAV our MEWS vehicle. You get to talk to a lot of old Marines too. Marines who served in various wars. Pretty much all of my senior Marines were Desert Storm veterans, but I really enjoyed talking to those Marines who served in Korea, WWII and Vietnam. Not because they told stories about combat, in fact rarely did they discuss combat, but they talked about what the world was like, and how they coped with decisions they had to make. For the guys in WWII, it was easy, the enemies were so clear cut and obvious. Hitler and Japan were just evil. And everybody loved them. When they liberated a European village and were treated like Kings, I can only imagine what that was like.
For the Vietnam vets though, there was still a certain amount of animosity from some of them. They had lost good friends, and for what? We never classified Vietnam as a war, and we never fought it like we should have. Congress tied our hands and prevented us from bombing North Vietnam and eliminating their real supplies. Many good men died in Vietnam because the politicians in charge were f*cking around not doing what they should have been doing.
The point here I'm trying to make, I love the Marines, I am glad I was apart of it. But being the person that I am, I know I would have protested the war in Vietnam, and sure as hell would not have wanted to be sent to that **** hole. Sure, some draft dodgers did it because they wanted to smoke pot and hang out. But some, like Clinton also took part is peace rallys and protested the war.
It's amazing to me how some people will latch on to one or two things about a persons past (or in Clintons case, also his present), and label them a terrible person. Yeah, Bill Clinton was a draft dodger, and yeah Bill Clinton cheated on his wife with a younger woman, and most likely used his position as President of the United States attract the girl. Neither of those things say anything to his Presidential record. The fact is, he presided over one of the most economically prosperous periods in our nations history. Was it all his doing? Obviously not, the technology boom was a large part of that prosperity, but he acted in the correct manner and hired the right people to make sure that the economy was strong, and stayed strong. Even when the Tech bubble burst, it didn't have a major effect across the board on the economy. It slowed, but it was still strong. If you want to hate Bill Clinton the person because of personal things thats fine. But if you want to hate Bill Clinton the President, then pick something involving his politics, like the insanely stupid Brady Bill, and ensuing Assault weapon ban. Those were stupid, but he was being a good little liberal and placating to the uneducated masses who hate guns because "there scary, and kill people and stuff".
Sorry for the long post, I just get really tired of the haters on Clinton, mostly because when confronted, their first reason for hating him is "he lied". Heres a tip, EVERY politician lies, thats what makes them politicians. Read my lips no new taxes ring a bell? However, when I judge our last 3 Presidents on the lies they made, 1 seems to stand out far and wide as worse than anything the other 2 did.
3. I did not have sexual relations with that woman - Bill Clinton
2. Read my lips, no new taxes - George Bush Sr
and the number 1 worse lie by a President...
1. We have evidence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
Clinton lied about having sex. Bush Sr, cost us a little bit more money out of a paycheck. Bush Jr, sent over 4000 US Servicemen to their death, and mortally injured over 30,000 more, and bankrupt the American economy to the point where our dollar is nearly worthless. Ill take a sex starved Clinton any day of the week.

Right or wrong, at that time NG members were considered to be
draft dodgers. The drill instructors wanted to know which
trainees were NG members so they could give them
"special attention".........Fort Polk 1969

I can give ONE good comment about Obama. He is not a supporter of gun control, but he did vote to ban all semi-auto weapons while running his state. So he may still be up in the air on this issue.....and with Pennsylvania coming up it will be a hot topic surely.
Actually, I think Obama just wants us all to turn in our guns like happy little socialists.
Man, this is why I really wish we had legitimate 3rd party candidates. Too many of the Dems want gun control, and they don't want normal gun control laws, they want fanatical lets take away all the guns laws, and too many of the republicans like to pull the Religion card and try to use the bible to pull the proverbial wool over their sheep's eyes. I just wish that those who normally vote republican because they think that GOP candidates represent their moral values, would peek out from under the wool every once in a while and look at the legislation the Republicans go for.
NEWS FLASH: The Republican party is the party for BIG BUSINESS, not the little Christian.
<sigh> I really wish there was legitimate 3rd party candidates.

I will have to look it up, but I read some where that he is against guns. They were talking about it on the news the other day, and that is why hillary went to a gun range and fired a gun, and then said she carries a gun all the time.

She has to do something keep Bills eyes from wandering. LOL
