Makes me sick too, but I won't keep my mouth shut. I say we round them up at any cost and send them back, it would be cheaper than letting them stay here. Screw them they have no right to be here.

My thoughts exactly helomech!! Its a damn shame if you ask me.. Think about what that money could do for us CITIZENS!! Schools, roads, etc... But were spending it on people that have no right being here..

The bigger issue is: How'd they get here? Why aren't they leaving? Why isn't anything being inforced? Why is our nation so extroverted yet so F'ed up internally? Why do we spend resources globally? Why do we police the world?

When we will be a non-competitive economic power?

im with helomech on this one too. i cant stand it anymore. they even passed a new law here in arizona making rules harsher on illegals but it hasnt changed a damn thing

My Solution:

Everybody who is here can get a temporary visa...lets say 2 years for the sake of argument. Could just as easily be 1 year or 5.

The understanding is that as long as you can document who you are, and how you are making a living and paying taxes, you get this temporary worker visa.

Everybody has 3 months to sign-up.

After that, we start checking...in full force. And, local authorities have a responsibility to detain and report illegals when discovered or risk loss of all federal funding and/or criminal penalties.

Employers face similar penalties for hiring illegals.

Now, the government just needs to pull the 100 billion or so out of its *** to enforce this policy (phased pull out in Iraq to focus on domestic issues?). Given that were headed into a strong recession (oh yes, it's going to get worse with all these folks currently, or soon to be, upside down on mortgages with no down and falling housing prices) at least we will have plenty of unemployed folks waiting to be hired to enforce these policies.

Problem would pretty much go away...we can then review visas and allow/dis allow renewal depending on situation.

PS...anybody who likes us being in Iraq does not get to complain about this issue. War in Iraq is sucking up any money that could be used to solve this problem.

Of course, we could just continue to print money, rack up debt, and watch the dollar fall in value as inflation soars... until it matches the worthlessness of the peso...that would solve immigration too I guess.

Gotta love Bushenomics... Oh and this current "bail out" by the government is a meager (and recklessly irresponsible) attempt to postpone recession until after elections..and will only make the problem worse. yEverybod knows recession kills an incumbents chances.
