I need some opinions. I do a decent amount of air travel, and always seem to not have enough pockets for stuff and nowhere to put things. I saw this bag and thought it would be good as a piece of carry-on "luggage" to keep my Ipod, portable DVD player, headphones, etc... My question is, does it look too much like a purse instead of a carry-on bag? Thanks in advance

The more I look at it, the more I think it looks pursish. If I was European I might be able to pull it off as a "murse", or a "European Carry all"

I too travel more than I would like. I think your only hope is to use a smaller laptop bag and pretend you have a computer in there. Some of the back-pack style computer bags look kinda nice, without looking too Yuppie.

You're not European, nor should you ever try to pass off a 'murse' as an acceptable accessory for a man. Men don't have accessories, they just have stuff.
You should try one of those swiss backpacks, thats what I use for a carry-on. It has several sections to keep what ever you have, it has a section for your laptop, cell phone, ipod and anything else you need. Some of them even have an ipod port so you can keep your ipod in your pack and just plug your headphones into the bag. Plus its small enough to put under the seat or even in those small overhead compartments that you find on the smaller jets. Here is a link: http://www.google.com/products?q=swi...ckout-restrict

Dude.. Just get a good quality backpak. Those puppies have TONS of pockets and come in all kinds of configurations and sizes. Plus, you can use it for just about anything, not just traveling. head to Cabela's or some wilderness shop near you. Tons to choose from. You'll pay around $100 for one, but at least won't look like a "girlieman"....
A couple of my co-workers are using the 'Swiss' bags, they are very nice, but a little gadget-y for my taste. When I go to meet a customer, I want something completely discrete, not at all flashy, totally professional.
Those osprey bags that overide posted look great, but holy jebus they are expensive.

A very valid point BB. My current choice is a simple green Eastpack with leather trim. Laptop fits great in there, room for one change of clothes and plenty of TSA friendly travel goodies. The pack is almost 12 years old and still looks/works great. I think it cost me $65 back in the day.
Geez, I didn't say I bought the thing. I'm just looking for something to carry small stuff while on a plane. The backpack is idea is okay, but I was looking for something a little classier (without looking like a yuppie or fruity).

I was on a trip over the weekend and used my high sierra back pack. It fit nicely under the seat of the plane. Also it was quick to grab, had padding for my laptop, a special pocket for my ipod with a slot for the headphones so they arnt running through the zipper, and a nice little pocket for my cellphone right up front for easy access. They come in lots of diffrent colors and you can even get them with wheels. I am not a fan of carryons but I will always have my backpack when I go on a plane. The heck with euro hand bags I say!!!!!!!!
