Ok guys, Im in the market for a sport sedan. The two cars Im looking at are the 2008 Infiniti G37 and the 2007 Subaru WRX STI. For elegant looks and style, Id pick the Infiniti. I guess for performance, the WRX. Both cars are in the 300hp category..... with the Infiniti at 330hp and the WRX at 300hp.
What do you think guys and gals?
Thanks.

I think it depends on your expectations...both are very good cars in their own rights, but comparing the two is kind of like comparing apples to oranges. As you say, the Infiniti is certainly more elegant looking and it is a very high performance automobile. The Sti has a turbocharged 4-cyl with AWD...also a very high perfomance car. I would say that if you're looking for something a little more comfortable and civil in day-to-day driving, the Infiniti would get the nod. But if you're looking for a car that's light on luxury/less refined, but high on performance, the Subaru would get the nod. I'm sure you've driven both...what's your impression?
I like the STI but it has gotten a bad reputation since it seems mostly young punk *** kids drive them and they all think they are driving a ferrari or something....guess its because they've never really owned/driven anything that would be truly considered fast

I agree.... If your looking for a track car probably the Subaru. My wife wanted a more sportier car last year but still have a 12 year old. We previously owned 4 maximas and opted for the new G35. i know it's not the G37 but same styling. We've owned it for a just over a year and we have been very excited with it. You can even get an UPREV tune for it......
G37 FTW. My boss just got an EVO X. Stock I was a little dissapointed. After intake, BOV, boost controller and down pipe it's absolutely disgusting. Just something to consider.
If you want a more refined ride with performance and comfort and you plan to keep it stock, get the G35/G37. If you plan to race/autox/modify, get the STi. If you want to modify and go faster, get an Evo.

2nd !!
You can mod the G, but not as much as the STi. The G does come with 4 yrs of the kiss-your-a$$ Intiniti service, which is great + the free service loaners.
We love our G (it's the wife's car) & I drive it every chance I get.

I drove a buddys wifes new Acura TL type S last weekend and WOW! Sweet ride, and so comfy, even for a big dude! Im 6'3 260 and was right at home in that thing, power for days too!! Luxury and performance wraped in a clean little package.
I don't know how long you would keep the car, but there's also a maintenance consideration.
Turbo's have come a long way, but eventually the turbo is going to fail and it will be very expensive to repair/replace...the extended warranty's even cost more. My wife has a Tribeca and I recall that Subaru levies a surcharge of some sort on the extended warranty's for the turbo cars.
