got it in an email wanted to see what ya'll think about?
In Obama's own words
This guy wants to be our President and control our government. Pay close attention to the last comment!! Below are a few lines from Obama's books ' his words:
From Dreams of My Father: 'I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.'
From Dreams of My Father : 'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mothers race.'
From Dreams of My Father: 'There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.'
From Dreams of My Father: ; 'It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.'
From Dreams of My Father: 'I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.'
From Audacity of Hope: 'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.'
Unfortunately I don't think many people pay that close attention to his words. They just hear a very charismatic speaker. God help us if he becomes our next president.

yea I'll admit he's a good speaker......I guess after 8 years of listening to George W. goof up his speeches, people want change alright...they just want to hear a good speaker. I don't think they have a clue what they're gonna hear though...they might be in for the shock of there lives....just wait and see.
"I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."
The (mis)quote is distorted just enough to intentionally leave the impression that Obama is siding with terrorists and thereby plays on people's stereotypes about Islam and Obama's background.
This is a perfect example of how easily duped people are when it comes to blindly accepting everything they read on the internet. (note how many right wing blogs/forums/news services it is on...)
The actual quote from "The Audacity of Hope". is from page 261:
"Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific reassurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."
I recommend doing a little research first...

Kronos...I knew you would chime in on this...you're input is appreciated....are all the other quotes inaccurate as well?

I actually saw the quote when I was in a bookshop in the Atlanta airport after reading the same quote on another forum and couldn't believe Barack would be dumb enough to state as such.
I haven't seen his other book so I cannot comment on them.
The funny thing for me is that some very good points have been raised about his plans to lead the United States. I for one would like to know from other members here if they have any information about what they've seen in speeches, legislation, and compare candidates across those lines.
Even Jimmy Carter did better on national issues and was weak on international ones. (Yikes-look what happened there!)
I give no credit to anyone quoting GWB out of context either and no candidate can pass the litmus test of being pure as new falling snow.
Casting Obama, McCain, or Clinton in an evil light via quotes, photoshop'd pictures, or out of context photographs, is just slight of hand meant to stir emotions-which unfortunately works for some.

Well he was dumb enough to sit in Rev. Wright's church for all those years and listen to his hate sermons. Or maybe he isn't dumb and truly believes the stuff?????
I wish there was a law that prevented candidates from running their campaigns until about six months before November elections...then they would stop all the bull#$it mudslinging and let us know what they're all about. I don't even watch the news anymore...I'm sick of the coverage and speculation.

Rev. Wright's comments simply bring to light what has been true since slavery-that discrimination exists in many forms, that Blacks have continued to lag behind (real and imagined), and that the principal obstacle is by the power structures of a dominant power group- (whites). That feeling of being inferior/treated less than equal is here everyday in Raleigh, NC!
The Duke Lacrosse scandal broke story and the white boys were being tried by the local community and every other minority group within 200 miles and when they were found not guilty, those same groups vanished like a fart in the wind-failing to apologize for their comments, epitaphs, and angry protests.
Rev. Wright has found his niche blaming someone else for the problems blacks face. (and mind you, I'm not saying that there are not some real issues out there but at some point, taking action instead of blame has to occur.)
Even if Barack Obama was sitting in there AND believes 100% of what Rev. Wright states, what can he possibly do about it that would be so terribly wrong for this country?
Revise EEO/AA? That needs to be done anyways?
Declare Islam the national religion of the United States? He is for separation of Church and State.
Invite Hamas to dinner? Watch the news tonight on his stance on Hamas...

That strategy would really force the candidates to be succinct and lay it all on the table-being unable to bash someone else using their precious time trying to build a candidacy in the process. I like your strategy!

How will minorities ever realize that they can be as successful in life as any other group("whites")..when they have been drilled with these types of statements^^^^^^^^ for generations? It's seems like a curse that is renewed each day no matter what opportunities are presented to them. There are parts of Ca and south Texas where white folks are treated less than equal and inferior....agreed???
Thank you sir for bringing clarity to an otherwise hysterical rant. I'm not a fan of Obama and don't plan to vote for him. But my reasons for NOT voting for him aren't based on half-truths and innuendo.

You are all right, Obama is a great , patriotic, America loving, flag saluting, white loving, military loving, church going, non racist individual running for office. Heck, he could run as a republican. The problem is that he is showing this side to get elected and once there, his real white hating, military hating, black supremacy supporting, radical church supporting and lying will come to light. Any fair voter will not just listen to what he says but look at what he has stood for in the past. This guy is fake through and through. I think most here know that but due to their hate for Bush, will vote him in any way. I never liked Clinton but Clinton was not a America hater, he just liked being a lollipop.

He goes to church. You apparently want him to go to one on your approved list.
He loves America-has said so. You apparently want him to do so in your approved way. And how many American haters run for President-what a way to show it...
He has supported all groups-said so in his book. Apparently you have determined that he hates whites and have insider knowledge that no other American outside of conservatives has.
He has repeatedly expressed his desire to strengthen the military-not simply deploy them and then figure out a mission plan and exit strategy later.
3. "Obama says we need to "show the world" that America is the last, best hope on Earth, offering what he calls "a new vision of American leadership and a new conception of our national security" based upon the view that "the security of the American people is inextricably linked to the security of all people."
"On the armed forces overall, Obama calls for "building a 21st century military to ensure the security of our people and advance the security of all people."
This includes, Barack Obama says, the current plan to expand the overall size of the U.S. military by nearly 100,000 (65,000 soldiers and 27,000 Marines), and "recruiting the best and brightest to service, ... keeping them in service by providing them with the first-rate equipment, armor, training, and incentives they deserve."
America's military, Obama says, should be "the strongest, best-equipped military in the world in order to defeat and deter conventional threats." He specifically supports "sustaining our technological edge."
"I say that if the need arises when I'm President, the Army we have will be the Army we need," Obama says, taking a poke at Donald Rumsfeld." Washington Post.
Sounds like he's anti-military to me.
And you know how most Americans are going to vote as anti-Bush as opposed to making a decision that they believe Obama to be a leader and not a replacement. Truly amazing that you are not a political analyst.
He couldn't run as a Republican. He doesn't fit the mold...
