Complete BS. How long does it take you to pop popcorn in your 1000W microwave oven? A handheld cell phone puts out a max of 0.6W. It's incredible the things people will attempt for their 15 seconds of fame.

If you want to see some odd things in a microwave oven try these.
1. Put a writable CD into the microwave upside down and set the time for 5 seconds. Make sure you don't have any data that you can't loose on the CD because it will never be readable again. 2. Put a bar of soap in the microwave and set the time for 30 to 45 seconds. Make sure the soap is on a paper plate before you turn it on. The soap will turn into a big pile of soapy foam which hardens when it cools.

ok last night at the firehouse we tried this experiment with 4 phones... no luck, then we tried again 5 more times still no luck... then we added 4 more phones still no luck. Then again we were using microwave popcorn and not cellphone popcorn.
 so I will put this myth as busted.
