I didn't think I would like the automatic, but now I don't think I will ever buy a shift type again.

Do you use yours for work? I ride mine all over my property, and still have only manged 1200 miles. I ride mine alot, all during the day. When I am not home my wife uses it atleast once a day to put corn out for the hogs.

Nah, im 14 so mainly just riding the trails with friends or hitting up this huge construction site thats still all dirty/mud. When we take it to north carolina its ridden about 8 hours a day so its gets a good number of miles in little time

Re: Anyone recently purchased an ATV?

6800 for a new Rubicon is a pretty good price when you factor in that's out the door. Had I bought an '08 model it would have been about another grand on top of that. When I was searching for used Rubicons on places like bike trader, ebay and craigs list, I found that the Honda's held their value than some of the other bikes. That or Honda owners are just more pretentious and were charging more for their bikes. But the stuff sold so, I can't blame them.

Also, in my short time riding, I have learned something. I will never buy a bike with a belt drive. I know shafts are more expensive when they need to be replaced, but a lot of people I ride with are lifted and have bigger tires on their bikes, and they all shred belts. Some of the bikes when they get into water have gotten water on their belts. They get stuck. Shaft drive > Belt drive.

Thats another reason why I like Honda, You wont see me riding with a belt after the Kawasaki kfx700 incident I had (dont ask why we went mudding with one of those special edition too lol)

We hit a mud/water hole with it going around 20, the belt got wet and started slipping so that thing was out for about 2 hours before it could be ridden home, it was a 2005 model, i love that thing tho fast as hell! it was an automatic too

Re: Anyone recently purchased an ATV?

You dont have to worry about the belt drive on a yammy or suzuki. Polaris, can-ams, and kawis eat belts because of the crappy system.

Snorkel it and you wont have to worry about the belt getting wet. I have got water in mine one time. I pulled the drain and 5 minutes later i was back on the trail.

Still on the original belt. I dont think you can abuse one anymore then i put mine through and have never slipped a belt.
