Re: Anyone recently purchased an ATV?

the new honda ranchers are not what they used to be! my brother n law bought one around three months ago and i dont feel like it will hold up like my 06 350 rancher.
just look at them really good the rear axle is exposed were mine is in a steel tube. frame for frame, supports and brackets are not like mine.
last month we went riding a trail around my house i went threw two trees (mine has the black outer fenders) i went right threw my fenders flex alot, he got wedge because his fenders are one piece, sorry to say he ripped his front bad!
the power of the new 420 is great, but i would not trade mine for it.
oh yea you better get a winch, im always pulling him out or pushing him because he's stuck!
with that said i'm a honda man, thats all i've ever had, and i'm speeking for the 420 rancher 4x4 only i dont know about the rest.

I have the same one as you now, I hate those black plastic pieces pain to clean, I wasnt aware that the rear axle is exposed if I end up getting it ill have to fabricate something to cover it up like the pre-07, . Idk the Rancher I have now is fine but the bigger engine, fuel injection, and liquid cooler makes it hard not to make the switch. In looks I think the new one wins on the front end and the old wins the rear end, Also I want a 4x4 model for so thats a big reason why im trying to get this new one

Re: Anyone recently purchased an ATV?

I have had 6 ATV's over the last few years (1 Kawasaki, 1 Bombardier, 1 Yamaha and 3 Honda's). One thing I know is that they all have their strengths and weaknesses. Personally I ride a Honda Rincon 680. It's a utility quad (4WD), but is set up to handle and perform like a sport, is fuel injected and has fully independent suspension. It also has a 3 speed auto trans that can be left in auto shift mode or shifted manually (but no clutch). If you need a working 4X4, you will need a Low range which the Rincon does not have.

It wouldve been for play, but im just sticking to the Rancher I have now til it dies, could be a while, ive read that the rincon is very weak low end. just wondering, why did you pick the Rincon over the Rubicon?

Re: Anyone recently purchased an ATV?

I have an 04 rubicon with gps that I wouldnt trade for the world. I ride with guys that have all the other brands and none of them are built with the same quality. Take the other brands in the water and they are done. My brother paid almost 10 grand for his arctic cat and after we go through water he has to pull over on the side and let the belt dry.

The more I ride my rubicon, the more I know I made the right purchase.

Hey Meg where you been? I agree honda's aren't what they used to be. That old 110 3 wheeler I had was indestructable. I don't even know if I can count how many times I had that thing completely under water.

Re: Anyone recently purchased an ATV?

Just a few from last week, actually a tame day out, but my Suzuki has taken far worse for 10 yrs with only a broken speedo cable, litterally thats it, still has the same plug and battery. I change the oil and clean the filter, but thats the only thing it gets......or has needed. Starts right up, pulls like crazy, and will take a lot of pounding. You couldn't give me a Poooolaris. I like my Hondas on the street, but for shear bullit proof reliability, I love my Suzuki. I'm looking at a Artic Cat 500 TRV two up with the same engine but an auto, priced $6400 out the door.

Re: Anyone recently purchased an ATV?

eh i dont like suzuki atv`s much, but the hayabusa bike is a different story, me and my friends have gotten about 6 people on a 250 ozark lol, overall its a piece of crap tho electric start quit, sucks offroad gets stuck in sand, backfires, roughest ride ever, only thing i will hand to it is thats its pretty quick faster than my 350 rancher but in everything else it gets wrecked, oh and ive sunk my rancher twice and it started up in about 10 minutes both times and still no smoke

Haven't had any experience with the 250s, something that small is a joke anyway, Suzukis are very popular around here, especially with the farm bunch because of thier durability, at least in thier larger ATVs, mine has been absolutely indestructable and never backfires, runs smoothly, starts very quick, even in single digit weather, has never run out of power, and I know 8 other people with LTF500Fs that will tell you the same. I was looking for one for my son and no one will part with thiers......of course I wouldn't part with mine either. I've got one friend that used to race Hondas on a semi pro level and he bought a King 700 and raves about it..........and mine will go damn near anywhere, only been stuck once and the hole swallowed the entire front end and the back was still dry, almost vertical, didn't look that deep.
