Michelin LTX M/S or Cross Terrains

These are for my dads 01 Supercharged Frontier.
The stock size is 265/55/17. ( hard to find )

Im considering the Cross Terrains in 275/55/17, and the LTX in 245/65/17.
Which would you chose?
Thanks!

Re: Michelin LTX M/S or Cross Terrains

I just replaced my cross terrains with another Mich. Tire that is very similar. It cost a little less. I think it's called the lattitude. The CT was a rough riding tire IMO and I only got 48K out of them. since they are 65K tire it knocked the price down on the new tires. I like these lattitudes. they ride nice and handle much better. Neither are much of a mud tire but both do fine in the sand and wet roads.

Now the LTX is a great tire. They do pretty good in minor mud and for a M/S tire they clean themselves pretty good. They ride great and if I could them for my 18'' wheels I would. I have had LTX's on on several vehicles includeing two Jeeps that stayed off road as much as on road.

So If I had the choice I would take the LTX M/S.

I put the Cross Terrains on my wife's QX56. They seem to be wearing very well, but I haven't been overly impressed with the handling and traction...

I know it's a different class, but may try the Terragrapplers on her truck next because I love them so much on my truck.

I bet Terra's would actually look pretty cool on a QX, even though I've never seen anything more agressive than all-season on one. This reminds me of the time that I put Mud Kings on my Mountaineer, and it actually looked good.

What my real plan is, when it's paid off in another year and a half...I'm going to get her something new, keep the QX for me as a daily driver and add the procomp lift...we'll see if that ends up being in the cards
