I am a Senior Systems Engineer, and work for the Houston Chronicle. It is the 5th largest daily newspaper in the U.S.A. I take care of the Network health (LAN/WAN/SAN/RAS and WWW (dual multi-homed 30mb/sec BGP)connectivity (gigabit/gigaman)) as my primary function for multiple sites in the Houston area and also remote sites in Washington, D.C., Austin, Dallas, SanAntonio, Harlingen, Mexico City............
We are under the HEARST umbrella and maintain connectivity for the HEARST WAN into Houston and all HEARST owned papers EAST/West of us for connectivity to our S390 IBM Mainframe.
Every 4 years I get to make a trek to either the DNC or RNC National convention in which ever city it is held in to open a 60-70 seat office for several Hearst Newspapers (appx. 12 papers).

Work with Cisco (cli and gui) Routers 7507's, 7120's, 3600's, 1700's, 1600's, multiple PIX firewalls, Cisco Switches 6513's, 3750's, 3550's, 2950's, and Checkpoint Firewalls, Ciscoworks LMI, HPOV, PRTG (traffic grapher), Avaya, Siemens (Voice Network), Visio for Drawings, Sun(Unix, gig nic multipathing), mixture of Windows servers ( gig nic teaming), FORE ATM switches.
I also in my spare time take care of the Sattelite feeds (NASA TV audio and streaming video, Wire services, DirecTV/Bloomberg feed, all Radio communication systems for Security and Production, MATV system for TV's in our building. Cat6 termination's, etc.
I also don't get paid enough. When I get home it's a Corona Extra w/ Lime or two. : )
