New to Titantalk, and to Titan
Hello all. I have been reading postings on this site for some time now. I just took delivery of a Titan LE 4x2 on Friday evening. All of the advice that you were giving to one another has really helped me tremendously!! As I said in the title, I am new to "Titan Talk". After having taken a road trip over the weekend, I have a few questions to throw out that I am hoping that several of you can give responses to:

1) On my first full tank (that is until the "low fuel" light came on), I got 354 miles. How does this compare to what others are getting? FY!, its a 28 gallon tank. I really don't know if that is the standard tank size or not.
2) What kind of deals are people typically getting on these trucks. Mine is a Smoked exterior LE 4x2 with no, navigation, DVD, or sun roof. There are no side airbags either. No draw bar type trailer hitch, but it does have a tow mode switch. I paid 28,500 for mine. Is this comparable to what others of you are paying (paid)?
3) Lastly, is there any way to turn off the automatic raising and lowering of the stereo volume when I increase and decrease speed?

Those are my questions. I would also like to point out that as incredible as we all know that these trucks are, I have found one very minor thing that I don't care for. On the grille of the truck, the front three sets of "crosshatch" plastic are separted by two vertical bars on the grille. The two "crosshatch pieces on the outside of the bar have a plastic panel several inches behind them that are obstructed by the "crosshatch piece". I can see that that area will be difficult to clean, or remain a catchall for bugs. Thanks again for all of your helping in making me realize that I made the right decision.

Fuel And Radio

Welcome to TT!

Your fuel mileage is very good; my light goes on about 315, I have 2,500 miles on her. After break-in should be better.

Radio has a sensitivity setting, you need to adjust it to LOW setting by pushing the Right Radio Knob until you get Sensivity setting, turn wheel and select LOW. This should help correct problem.

Note: There is a TSB on radios that need replacing if this doesn't work.

Iam sure others here know a lot more and will chime in and give you threads that address these issues.

Life's funny. One day you're a wide eyed newbie on titantalk, the next you're a spokesman for Zima!

I've only been a member since November of this last year so even though I've got over 1250 posts, I guess I'm still a relative newbie. I managed to track down my first post and it seems as though I was just adding to a thread complaining about how hard it was to fill up the tank with fuel. I haven't even had this problem since the first 4 or 5 times I filled up. Wow, things change fast!

Same here! Just started shootin' my "mouth" off as soon as I walked in, didn't even introduce myself. Just like in person, I guess.

Seems to have worked out just fine for both of us. I'm sure we've both made a few enemies though. Here's what I say to them:

I was a lurker for 6mo. before I finally posted this...

I've been around longer than many of you, but I only recently started posting regularly so I still feel like a noob.

Question about ordering a Titan

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will graduate college in August, and want to be driving my new Titan soon afterwards. It looks like I will be ordering it since I can't find my configuration anywhere (SE 4x4, Offroad, Util. Bed, Power Captains Chairs). My questions are: How much should I expect to pay upfront for an order? When will my payments start? Thanks in adavance for the replies. I love the site. Lurking since January, but looking forward to contributing as ownership approaches.

Anybody else wondering what happened to the first 2000 or so members?? I'm sure some are still around, but most seem to have gone AWOL.
