Titan companion car: Honda Element 4wd

we have the Titan (with good off-road abilities)... it's a keeper, we both agree, my wife and I.
But wer're considering replacing the 2000 Wrangler Sahara (170 hp I6-6cyl) with a 2.4L V4 160hp 2004 Honda CRV EX as 2nd car, mostly for in town errands.

what do ya'll Titan fans think of the 22-26 epa mpg 2.4L V4 160hp 2004 Honda CRV EX as a "Titan companion car" ? (mainly for my wife).

we both like the the Wrangler, but the little "mule" gets 12 actual mpg and barely has room for us and a teenager and a 90# dog.
_______
edited 3/17/04: we purchased the '04 honda element ex awd 5spd manual with side-air-bags. man, i never knew driving a 4 cylinder 160hp can be so much fun. not like the brutally refined fast fun like my Titan, but fun in a quick and agile way.

Cr-v

We have a CR-V as a companion car (although don't have the main Titan yet!) and my wife loves it. Our big dog goes in the back and the two kids in the back seat. It has some useful features others might not have. The rear seats slide forward and back and they both recline. There is tons of storage/cubbyholes.

Even though the specs say the Saturn Vue and the Rav-4 have close to the same interior space, I find that hard to believe. The CR-V seems much bigger inside.

It won't replace your Jeep in terms of offroad prowess, though. We have the AWD but it is not a true off-road vehicle. There is also plenty of pep compared to my old '99 CR-V.

I say go for it!!

buy another Titan...hmmm..

hey man, don't temp me, 'cause i actually could get a $32K LE Crew Cab 4x4 (without off-road or tow, this time, but the same Smoke color), but then my wife would say just get her the freaking Armada then...

however, i am a bit of a "conservative" with spending hard earned cash (and stocks) besides i still want to get a superbike Honda 2004 cbr1000rr

X-Trail

To bad you don't live in Canada. Nissan Canada is selling the X-trail starting in May. It looks up to challenging the CR-V and if you are a Nissan Fan - It would be the way to go!

Nice choice!! You can hose out all the dirt from your 4 wheeling. Look at that one too, but it only fit four and we wanted the option of having space for an extra kid every so often. Also, it was a tad higher priced than the CR-V.

Good luck with it!

thanks, Keane

Our son and Chesapeake Bay Retriever dog "Halo" liked the CRV, but was easier to fit the dog & our mt. bikes inside the funky Element, our secondary "town wagon". And our primary "travel wagon" Titan KC already sits six (seven, sometimes).

perahps when we're blessed with a 2nd and a 3rd child, we'll look into something more roomy...
