Northern California Meet - Sacramento, CA July 16th!!!
It has been suggest by skromfols that we have a northern california meet in the sacramento valley area, so all can travel equal distances. I live in Sacramento and would be willing to host this event, if people are interested, and contribute. I will make my slow cooked ribs, if everybody brings something else. I would like some ideas of where people would like to meet. I was thinking somewhere on the water to make the families welcome, but any ideas are better than none. The main requirements would be nice picnic area, and plenty of parking. If water was wanted good waterfront access, and a launch nearby. Forth of July is a 3 day weekend, and the sacramento river has a fireworks display in the downtown area, there are lots of places close enough to see it. But whenever else is fine to.
send ideas, I would like to get this off the ground.

Rossi here...I'll do the bbq'in.....bring the Tri-tip...let me re-phrase that...how many people!!! LoL
From Modesto here.....not sure what all is up there in Sac...all I know is discovery park..and the 4th weekend would be VERY bad time to go there. Most other weekends there IF no events are planned isn't too bad...however it don't take many boats on the water there to be way too many. Most don't understand the rules of the water...AT ALL.
I'm game....

Ok I've been talking to Jaysplaypen on this and let's just plan it and get it going guys.
Ok folks we are trying to get a Northern California meet going. Our very own Jaysplaypen has offered up her slow cooked ribs!!! She's in the Sacramento area and we are looking for suggestions as to were to have this meet at. A family setting is preferred since some have childeren.
I'll bring some Tri-tip and do the cooking. There are posts at CT regarding the same thing. So let's all get together and some of you show me why I need Volant and new exhaust!!!
So we need to get some ideals on a couple things.....Exactly what date...if we get a few we can run a poll on it. And all ideals as to exactly were to have this would be appreciated!! AFter we get an ideal of who is coming we will try to compile a list as to who is bringing what so we can have a nice big cook out.
So come on guys....let's get this going!!!

thanks rossi. I am jaysplaypen, but when I registered i had a typo, couldn't figure out to log in for days since I got the name wrong. I am a stay at home mom, so I can organize what ever is needed. Please PM me or reply to this thread, to see interest.
My thought was that we could have an afternoon meet to give everyone a chance to examine what everyone else has done to their trucks, then have B-B-Q, lunch, or whatever. The opportunity to meet other Titan owners and examine the latest truck additions is the main draw, so water sports would not be all that important to me.
I agree with Rossi that the 4th weekend would probably be undesirable. 3 day weekends bring out too many amature drinkers and my wife would probably frown on me using the Titan as the focal point for the holiday.
Man, am I getting windy or what ? Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and to finding out what additions have been made to their trucks. Again, just let me know what I can do to help in setting things up. I think any park would work, as long as there's room to park and admire the trucks, and again, I suggest a regular weekend, either Sat or Sun. Just my thoughts.
Since you're asking for dates I'll propose June 25 or 26, or July 9 or 10. Either Saturday or Sunday will work with me. As to locations, Sacramento has a number of nice parks, or we could always try the Elk Grove Park just off Hi 99. Sorry, I don't know any specific areas in Sacto to suggest. I'll definately be there, but I don't think my wife is interested.
That is why I thought the lake or river, that way the wifes, and kids would have something to do other than talk truck, hence more participation. But hey whatever people want will be fine with me. Elk grove park has a nice pond, and a play area for kids and plenty of picnic areas.

I shall go along with whatever the majority wants...the only thing I can't do is the 4th weekend. If I take a day off I won't get my double time plus eight for working the 4th.

I looked at the elk grove park activity calander and found the 25 of June would be the best of the dates brought up. The others have a Kids tri-atho-lon, and a camp out the starts at noon on saturday, and goes till noon, on sunday. Saturday, the 25th of june has no planned activities set. There is also no planned activities for the 16 and 17 of July and the 23 and 24.

Sounds good....we just need to get some more input and some members interested...then we will try to put it in stone....

I don't have anything conflicting with 25 June, but if that doesn't work for others we can try for late July. The important thing is to lock down a date and start spreading the word so that people can plan ahead.
I kinda lost intrest. what ever happended to erik? I'm from san jose and Sacramento is a little far for me, but if there is a good amount of people going I might reconsidered. Just pm me.

Count me in except for the 4th of July weekend. I already have plans and also agree with the hassle of the holiday crowd and traffic would be to much to go that direction. I'll be coming from the Stockton/Manteca are as well so the drive is not that bad on a normal weekend.
I too am more than willing to help out with food and drink or what ever might be needed, depending on how many people of course.
Keep us posted!!!!
