I just got back from a weekend visit to Petaluma and SF. I saw dozens of Titans and wonder if any of them are members here. If any of you ever want to get a meet and greet together, let me know. I am in Reno so it is an easy drive over the pass to get there.

My brother told me he's been there as well and there were Titans. He asked me to search about it but I've haven't yet found anything regarding those Titans in Petaluma. I hope there are owners who are members here and post some reply.
Hey Roy we do need to get a big meet set up or something. I've tried to get some Titans to go to the track up in Sacramento...but can't seem to do it.
But yes they are all over the place here in CA. Now that Lonnie has moved to TN....and Greg to Texas....just not many people interested.

I will tell you that if you set up a meet or something in the Sacramento - SF area I will be there. I will take any excuse to drive that road from Reno to Sacramento. 80mph on those curves in a Titan is what driving is meant to be. The only thing that would be better would be a Corvette or Porsche.

Or a 350Z. The Reno run, now that's what i lived for in that car.

Although the Z would be fun, and my wifes CLK 500 is a blast on that road, nothing compares to a good motorcycle. Every time I make that ride on my Honda V-65 I have a smile ear to ear the whole time. Nope, no bugs in the teeth with my windshield.
I second what Dawgs said, we've had some really great get togethers in Stockton and Sacramento, but people just seem to have lost interest. If you're interested, that makes three of us (I know Dawgs is always up for fun), so maybe we need to get something started. Shall we start talking about a time and place? Once we determine that we can start putting out the word.
Not into racing the truck, but always up for a good BBQ.
I just bought a small tabletop propane grill for my apartment that I plan on keeping in the back of the truck (once I get the house in Chicago sold and can get my real grill out here) for times just like that.

Seeing how i drive from Reno to the Bay Area all the time, i'd have to say that the pass would be more fun in our trucks, just because the roads up there are in such bad shape. But, from Auburn to Sacramento would be really fun in a sports car as long as you can avoid the 5-0's.
I'd be interested in a meet in Sacto or surrounding areas as well.

Ron, I don't know what the facilities are like at the drag strip, so don't know if it would be appropriate as a gathering place for a picnic. The first questions that come to mind are:
1. Would it cost to get in, even if members don't use the strip?
2. Is there a shaded area and a place for kids to play?
My thought is that if we want to do something we'd probably want to do it in May, before it gets too darn hot (remember our one picnic - don't want to repeat that).
I don't think we'd need to go overboard in the organization of a get together, just decide where and when to have it, then list the basics of what would be needed and let everyone volunteer for what they would bring. If we reach an agreement on when and where I can go back to our thread from last year and send notes to everyone who participated just to let them know what we're doing and give them an invite.
So far the best location seems to have been the park in Elk Grove. It seems centrally located, easy to find, and is big enough to accommodate a large group.
If you guys agree with me I'll post a new thread and start things going. Roy, Brian, what say you? We have another member from Reno who's attended the last couple of our picnics and I'm sure he'd be interested in another get together, so that would be three of you coming over the hill, and I'll bet we can get at least 10 more Titans locally.
The middle of May sounds pretty good as long as i'm out of school and can get a weekend off or something. And Elk Grove Regional Park sounds pretty good to me too, it's not too far out of the way. And hopefully we'll have some more Reno members soon. I've been designing a flyer to put on Titan owners windshields to spread the word. There are too many Titan's here and not enough members.
