Total Chaos Shackles & Deaver 1" spring pack

I have ordered & now received the Total Chaos Shackles and the 1" spring pack.

My understanding is that the spring pack raises the rear 1" but the shackles drop the rear about 3/4", resulting in a 1/4" increase in height of the rear. (which won't preclude me from getting into the garage with ARE Z shell & rack.)

I think I understand how to install the spring pack from prior posts. I have a couple of questions:

1. I have the side bed box. Apparently that has to come out to do the install?

2. I have read about other spring packs that come with shims to maintain the original drive angle to avoid driveline vibration. Link:

http://www.rangerpowersports.com/tech/?p=81

Has anyone had these problems? Is this a concern?

3. Should I grease the new shackles during installation? If so, with what? I have installed replacement shackles on jeeps and they had grease zerks. (BTW, the new shackles look enormously strong.)

O.K., I ordered some teflon synthetic grease. I also ordered some forged C clamps for the spring pack install, as all I have at the moment are the cheapo cheesy cast kind that tend to break now and then. Meanwhile, I'm going to paint the shackles.

With the 4x4 Off Road Pkg. the 1" PRG/Deaver mini-pak, is supposed to lift the back 1.5", so overall with the TC shackle this will give about 3/4". [I forget what your setup is].

For those with a 2wd, and want more than 2" of rear lift, a carrier bearing drop is required, (according to PRG, who has them on his site).

O.K., thanks. I think I can live with 3/4.
