Brake TSB Service - Louisiana

Guys,
I've had some trouble with my local dealer in Lake Charles in getting service for the brake TSB issue. I am wondering if anyone has had good experience with dealers in the state specific to the brake issue.

Any advice that you could give would be appreciated. At this point distance is no issue.

Thanks,

If your talking about getting them to perform the TSB, you probably have the same issue I'm dealing with in Baton Rouge..... They just don't have the parts in quantities.
I have been on the list for a couple of months now.

I live in Broussard, just south of Lafayette, and I got my Titan from J.P. Thibodeaux in New Iberia. I called my salesman on a Saturday and he got me in the following Monday for the brake issue. They said there are three things they do. The first is they turn the rotors and replace the pads, and maybe some other small items. If it reocurs, they do something else and if that fails they install the redesigned rotors(someone correct me if I'm wrong) . That is what I remember anyway. If for some reason you need to come to Lafayette soon maybe you can give them a call and see what they can do. I was happy with the service, much better than some that I have read about.

I should read your whole post. If distance is not an issue then you should give them a call. They had all the parts needed for mine and probably have more. That would be about a 1 hour 45 min drive I believe.

Cajunman, I will have to give them a call. I've heard other good things about JP Thibodeaux from family. They used to own the dealership here in town as well, and I never had problems then.

Thanks for the info. I'll post my results.

Which dealer did you use and what is your opinion?? I went to Royal and think I got a pretty good deal. Two weeks before I bought my 05, the used car mgr tried to screw me though.

Just wanted to post an update. I am scheduled for a brake replacement at Mike Smith Autoplex in Beaumont, TX. for 8/26 at 07:40.

Cajunman, JP Thib. was actually about 40 miles more driving distance each way from where I'm at and with Gas @ $2.42/gal, I figured I'd save that fill-up. We'll see what Mike Smith can do.

I will let everyone know how it works out. Thanks for the input.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the brake replacement went fine. I've been a little busy lately with some family from New Orleans and haven't been online.

Mike Smith Auto in Beaumont is worth the drive for me.

Premier Nissan in Metairie did my fix in April and I haven't had any problems so far. This was the permanent fix. They really are first class in service. I had a friend sell me my Titan at Premier, so I would be biased to tell you what I think of the sales department. I have put many miles on the Titan since Katrina and the fix is working fine.
