I will be getting the use of the UPREV Cipher software system sometime this summer. If anyone is wanting to get the timing advance/idle adjustment done and is willing to meet in New Bern or Havelock to have it done cheap ($20 instead of $70 at dealer) send me a PM and I will keep you updated on its arrival and set up a group meet.
Okay, in laymen terms I've heard this helps the most to those who've freed up the breathing of their titan (intake and exhaust) because the titan runs lean.
In technical terms..
I'm too dumb to answer. Everyone who has done it has been pleased.

nope.. gives you more ignition advance which always equals more power... thy not do it from the factory? well emissions and fuel milage for one... i had an 05 dodge dakota v8.. timing was restricted to 22 degrees BTDC (before top dead center) when in actuallity, you can use like 32 degrees..
so if someone comes out with a programmer for our trucks, would we still be good to go after having the advance done on our engine. sorry if that sounds like a stupid question but i want to have the timing done and as soon as a chip comes out i would like to have that done as well. i dont have any inside info but i'm sure a chip is going to be out soon for our trucks. i hope before or by years end.

A "chip" for any new model Nissan is quite unlikely. You'll understand why if you take a look at the processor inside your ECU (where the software is stored on new ECUs). The 200+ pins are as fine as hairs and you can't really solder them w/o a robot.
An ECU reflash, similar to what is currently offered for Gs and Z, is not doubt in the works (that could be considered a programmer like you mentioned).
W/ that said... the ignition advance that Cipher does on the ECU is only semi-permanent, meaning that it is only stored in RAM, so when the ECU looses power the advance goes back to normal. Re-flashing the ECU would most likely set the advance back to normal as well, but it could always be re-advanced after the flash (if the new tune is not already pushing the ragged edge of safety on the ignition advance).
