Just a thought.
TTC and Southpoint are extremely freaked out about groups coming onto their property.

I volunteer for local humane society and the hoops that have to go through is unreal.

No outside displays, tents, power outlet access...

Good places to visit on a hot day but other than that...

Jordan Lake is too crowded both in the parking lots and on the beach plus the water is so churned up, that you'll come out a nice shade of brown...

Campgrounds are okay but you're on top of everyone. Kerr Lake is your best bet for campgrounds.

Re: Interested in a meet in Raleigh in August?

I know, I've said this before....It's mighty hot here in august, 'specially in a giant asphalt parking lot. I do work outside for a living, that doesn't mean I like it. At least we may consider a meet in the spring or early fall when it's more comfortable. The triangle/Raleigh area is a good halfway point for a meet, though. 40/540/70 pretty much all intersect there. I grew up in Wake county, so if I can be any help with the area, I'll try.

Vote on the poll!

No seriously, a Spring meet can be a posibility but with all the graduations, last time we discussed it, there were no takers.

Then of course no one wants July because of vacations.

The window in August was picked last time because it was before schools, Labor Day and people's schedules could work around it.

September and October are both unpredictable with weather and kids back in school.

Anyways, I'll be glad to plan around the majority of folks schedules. I've got two grills!

I've posted on CT as well as I think that will give us a good cross section of yahoos opinions!

Re: Interested in a meet in Raleigh in August?

Fall would definately be cooler time of year. October can be rainy though if Hurricanes are brewing. As long as there is shade it shouldn't be too bad at a park.

FYI. Head over to Fort Fisher so you can take your Titan onto the beach-you'll love it.
speaking of Fort Fisher, the north end is called freeman park while the south is is part of the Fort Fisher state park. We go there alot in during the year and the Military has a camp ground close by. By the way, the fort fisher area is a great place to kayak, fish, or just chill out.
